Whakatane Holiday Park & Backpackers offers holiday park and backpackers accommodation in Whakatane. Accommodation includes 5 standard cabins, 6 kitchen cabins, 4 self-contained units, 70 large sheltered caravan sites and tent sites (water and drainage on all sites). Park amenities include modern communal kitchen with microwaves, ablution block, swimming pool, sheltered barbecue area, TV room, guest laundry with automatic washing machines and dryer. Boat parking, good fishing, freezers and fish cleaning facilities. It is 500m to boat ramp. Pets are allowed in off-season by arrangement in the camping area only. White Island bookings.
Tariff: 2 persons self-contained unit from $85; standard cabin from $60; kitchen cabin from $70; extra person $15; sites $15/person, child under 12yrs $7.50. Seasonal rates may apply. Visa, MasterCard and Eftpos accepted. Whakatane Holiday Park & Backpackers is a member of HAPNZ and hosts are Noel & Janice Galloway.
The holiday park is located on the banks of the river, over Whakatane Bridge. It is a 5 minute walk (500m) to the Whakatane town centre and a 10 minute walk to the White Island departure point. Whakatane is a popular holiday destination and 50 km offshore lies White Island, New Zealand's only an active island volcano.
