Overview
Where the journey becomes a destination.
Interislander travels between the North and South Islands of New Zealand and is one of the most spectacular cruises in the world. With 92km of breathtaking views, the three-hour journey between Wellington and Picton really is one of New Zealand's most iconic tourism activities. Interislander operates three ships, the Kaitaki, Arahura and Aratere, for you and your vehicle. We have up to 11 sailings a day, so you'll always have a wide choice of travel times.
Once you're on your Interislander journey, you can take a stroll on the decks, enjoy a meal, a drink or even catch the latest movie releases. Or you could just choose to relax and take in the breathtaking view. Children are well catered for with a play area, nursery, cartoons and video games. Plus there's plenty of seating for families.
The Cove is Arahura's cosy refuge from the main lounges.
You're free to wander the ship before retreating to The Cove. Take a seat, make a cup of tea, read a newspaper browse the magazine selection, or just enjoy the view.
Or if you're looking for something different, a range of board games is available on request.
Bring your Wi-Fi enabled device to take advantage of the 40MB of Wi-Fi included with entry to The Cove. A dedicated Wi-Fi PC is also available in The Cove if you need it.
The Cove is strictly limited to 8 people. You can reserve your place at the time of booking by clicking Add Extras on the Sailings Options page.
Premium Plus are our premium lounges on board Kaitaki & Aratere. These are the most comfortable and luxurious way to cross the Cook Strait. A Premium Plus ticket allows you to access a private lounge which includes comfortable seating, free WiFi internet access, Sky TV, newspapers and magazines, complimentary beers, wine, tea, coffee and finger food.
Premium Plus available on Kaitaki and Aratere only.
Combining spectacular scenery and great service, it is easy to see why Interislander has been described as 'one of the most beautiful ferry rides in the world' by Wine Spectator Magazine, USA.
