Overview
Welcome to our home, right in the village of Karori but only ten minutes from the central city. Dine with us, or eat out at the local tavern, restaurants/cafes, enjoy our local village shopping centre, library, Post Office and other amenities all within a few minutes walking distance.
As we are on the main bus route, guests, if they wish, can park their car off-street and take the bus into the city. We are happy to pick you up from ferry, train, bus or airport terminals and of course make sure you do not miss your onward connection.
We are situated close to the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, Botanic Gardens and Otari-Wilton's Bush, Cable Car, historic Thorndon's boutique shopping centre and restaurants, Katherine Masefield's birthplace and Westpac Stadium.
'Absolutely Positively Wellington' is a dynamic, everchanging, compact city making it easy to walk from one site to the next and with simply the most friendly helpful people. Take advantage of Wellington's cultural events: orchestra, ballet, opera, galleries and theatres. Visit our fabulous modern museum Te Papa or take a shuttle ferry across the harbour.
We have two guest bedrooms, 1 queen and 1 twin which can also be a single. Guests have the sole use of a separate toilet and a full sized bathroom next door to the bedrooms. Relax and make yourself at home - use our laundry, garden, lounge, email/internet facilities. Meet Ollie, our poodle/terrier dog. Children of all ages welcome. Our home is perfect for business travellers or families relocating, being so close to all the village amenities including schools. Weekly rates on application. Evening meals are an optional extra, $30.00 per person.
From the motorway, when coming into Wellington from the north, take the Hawkestone Street/Karori exit off the motorway and follow the signs up past the Botanic gardens, through the tunnel, up the hill and into the Karori village. Turn right at the lights into Parkvale Road (first turn past the Shopping Mall), then turn left down the drive to No 23 where a big welcome awaits you.
