The motel unit is well set out with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay. The bed is probably the most comfortable my wife and I have ever slept in away from home.
If you are going to Wanganui then this is the place for you.

The girls and I were very happy with the clean and comfortable stay at Riverside. I was greeted warmly and everything was ready for us. A pleasant stay and happy to stay again.

Riverside Motel is easily accessable and well located in Wanganui. It's practical, adequate, but not very appealing as a tourist hotspot, though the Wanganui river is at the other sideof the street.

Answer to our review, We only had one pair of shoes with us and my husband and I both had them on.There were no wet clothes anywhere.We would never leave wet towels on the beds or couch they were in the bathroom and management changed them. As for curtains closed that was not right when we left the unit windows and curtains were all opened. We feel this is not the truth about the way we left the unit and am very unhappy with the things managment have said . Why would we lie as we pay good money to stay in places and have no reson to lie about things.
This is not a platform to accuse people of lieing. We have not done so. Let the readers decide. Particularly those who know us. We are confident that we are not considered as Jude Johnson portrays us.
We stayed 2 nights and found the unit smelly and dated,the bed was comfortable, when we got extra pillows out of smelly wardrobe they had long black hair over them. Good location. Would not stay there again
Unfortunate that guests did not report their complaints to management as action would have been taken immediately. I seviced the unit myself after the first nights stay and upon entry noticed a strong unpleasant smell of wet clothes and footwear, which were scattered throughout and wet towels lying on bedding and couch, windows closed and curtains drawn. Of course I took evasive action. I also replace all the linen, etc, myself after each departure and sadly may have not seen a black hair in the wardrobe but can verify that the pillow cases, etc, were clean as always. I think this review is a combination of bad weather and the guests own lack of care. The unit was sanitised on their departure.
This is the second times we've stayed her. Very tidy, clean, spacious and quiet unit. Would definitely recommend this motel of friends. Good location, easy walking to city and eating houses.
A well furnished lounge and bedroom, with a nice kitchen and bathroom facilities. Very comfortable queen size bed in the lounge. Great price for a bedroom + lounge unit. Great view of the sunrise, and a nice benchseat across the road in front of the river from which to welcome the new day! Very friendly owners. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in town.

In the older style but very clean and comfortable. The owners were very helpful assisting us with our laundry so that we did not have to wait around.
The Riverside proved to be a good choice for our stay in Wanganui as it was close to the river affording good views across and of the paddle steamer which passed in the afternoon. It was convenient for the town and local attractions i.e Virginia Lake, Lake Westmere and Bason Botanic Gardens and main road access was excellent.
Rooms were well appointed and the service was friendly and attentive. In-room facilities were more than sufficient and parking was good.

A very clean and nice place to stay, everything that was needed was there.
My father and I recently stayed at Riverside Motel and would highly recommend staying there. It is set overlooking the Wanganui River and is lovely and peaceful.
Very comfortable rooms with everything you could need. Lovely friendly owners, who are very helpful.
It is 'Home Away from Home'. :)
