The Kings Court Motel in Whanganui is very conveniently situated one block from the main shopping street and is within very easy walking distance to most parts of the city and to the river, yet it is separated from the noise of the main retail street, the railway and the highway to New Plymouth. The (studio) unit was neat and clean and the property was attractive and in a pleasant setting.

Clean comfortable unit, very close to central shopping area and terrific fish n chip shop. Bed comfy and service very pleasant. We would stay again in this quiet safe motel.

Rooms were very soundproof. Close walk to shopping Centre. Everything that was needed was available and Owner very helpful and helped to bring luggage in.

Staff very helpful. Room has LOTS of heating options; (A/C, electric heater AND electric blanket!). Small carton of milk provided, handy with breakfast cereal. Free morning paper if u want. Comfortable bed and plenty of extra bedding too. The motel is not "super modern" but has everything you need and is clean, tidy and close to CBD. No complaints from me :)

Even though my booking was confirmed , when I arrived at the motel they claimed to have no knowledge or record of my booking.
They helped me find another motel because they had taken bookings during the day and were full.
I went to see them two days later to ask what would happen re my payment and left a copy of my booking confirmation sheet.
The lady said that the owner was away but that they would explain the situation and that they would get back to me. They have not!
Mr Maguire, We are sorry you had this experience and can assure you this has never happened in the past. However we do apologise sincerely and tried on several occassions to contact you with no avail, we did speak to your receptionist prior to you writing this review and discussed the payment you were concerned about and advised her that Jasons is a booking website and only takes credit card details to hold your booking, no money is taken until you have completed your stay. I believe our motel minders were deeply apologetic and upset that your booking was missed, it happened to be a busy night with bookings and she sourced other accommodation for you within 500m. We cannot apologise enough and sorry we were unable to discuss this personally though we did try several times.

Even though it was for one night, my husband and I had a very lovely stay here. A couple of minutes walk to town yet so quite at night.You would think with being so close to town, you'd hear all the traffic.Very pleasent friendly owners. Will be going back again :)
We had a lovely stay at a very well appointed motel. It was very clean and comfortable and the Motelier was very friendly and helpful. The room had everything that we could need and was very spacious. We will be staying there again if we go to Wanganui. Thanks for a great 2 days.
