Overview

Welcome to the 'Olde Worlde Charm' of this restored historic homestead, circa 1895.

Nestled in beautiful gardens alongside the Whanganui River, the homely ambience will ensure your stay is restful and enjoyable. The graceful entrance leads to eight comfortable, centrally heated, period-designed bedrooms, guest drawing room and dining room. Persian rugs, floor to ceiling drapes and an impressive staircase add to the character of this homestead.

Some of the bedrooms have access to the large verandah with seating facilities, overlooking the stuning gardens and River. Tea and coffee can be enjoyed by guests in the dining room at any time. Breakfast is served in the character dining room. Dinner is also available on request.

Laundry facilities, wireless internet, fully equipped kitchen and off-street parking are also available to guest.

Behind Braemar House are backpacker facilities/hostel which are separate and self-appointed. The Backpackers offers a choice of doubles/twins and small and large family suites along with a dorm room.

Braemar House central location close to the city and visitor attractions makes it a great option for guests to Wanganui and your host Clive will do everything possible to make your stay a memorable experience.
