Overview

Aotea Motor Lodge offers luxury motel accommodation in Wanganui. The superior quality apartment-style accommodation comprises of 28 apartments, some with balcony and serviced daily. All units come with tea/coffee making facilities, microwave, ensuite, double jet pumped spa bath, luxury bath robes, hair dryer, queen size beds, phone, free broadband internet, 46" LCD TV with 5-channel Sky Digital, DVD, air-conditioning, heating and iron/ironing board. Cot and highchair available. Cooked/continental breakfast is available. Room service for all meals and meals available with chargeback facilities from local restaurants. Other facilities include guest laundry, drycleaning, and off-street parking. Full business amenities are available including conference room and full catering services.

Tariff: single/double/twin from $170, extra person $20 and corporate rates available. All major credit cards and Eftpos accepted.

Aotea Motor Lodge is centrally located on Wanganui's main street. It is a couple of minutes walk to restaurants, shops, entertainment centre and supermarkets. Wanganui is located on the mouth of the Whanganui River and lies 75km northwest of Palmerston North and 200 km north of Wellington.

    "Very Nice ..But....." This was given a review of 4 stars (Good)

    Room and conditions were all of very good standard, nicely laid out. Unfortunately the other patrons meant I had one of the worst sleeps possible with yahooing, yelling starting cars and driving off & returning all between 1 & 3 in the morning.

    "Ohhh that spa bath!" This was given a review of 4 stars (Good)

    We found the Aotea Motor Lodge very nice. The owners were very approachable and followed through with our requests.

    We didn't use the huge spa bath and we both found it strange that it was sited in the bedroom/lounge. I guess it could house an extra guest!!

    One of the things we didn't like was the large overhead shower, you couldn't avoid getting your hair wet.

    The very comfortable bed seemed to have an in-built heating device and after a few hours both my partner and I wished we could turn it off.

    All in all though a very pleasant stay.

    Very comfortable and clean !!. Everything we needed. Quiet inside while being surrounded by handy supermarkets. Easy to find location and friendly staff. Luxury accommodation at a very reasonable price. Would go back there for sure next time we are in Wanganui.
