Queenstown, Cardrona Alpine Resort is renowned for its open runs and dry, soft snow. Highlights include the Monster halfpipe and the terrain park trails, which have some fun jumps and rail features. There are slopes for beginners, wide open groomed slopes for intermediates, chutes for the advanced and an extensive terrain park for freestylers. The trail down the Arcadia Basin will suit the more advanced skiers and boarders. The new Valley View chairlift has opened up more intermediate and advanced terrain from the Whitestar Express down to Speed Straight, boosting the resort's skiable area to 345 hectares. Cardona is also set to unveil Australasia’s first internationally-certified downhill course - the FIS-certified ‘Goldrush’ course. Cardrona will also be one of the hosts of the 100% PureNZ winter games, this year held in August 13-28th.
