Really nice and clean. Beds in the room were good. However the two sofa beds were pathetic. One had missing slats and the other was average. Would stay again but request better sleeping conditions.
We had two lovely nights at this motel with gorgeous views of Lake Taupo. Well worth carrying our luggage upstairs. Only issue was sofa beds in lounge were both a bit broken and uncomfortable for our teenage sons.
Otherwise would happily stay there again. Taupo fantastic as always.

Booked over the phone for 1 night for a family of 5 - we were able to pick a room (837) and were offered a better price than that advertised! 1st thumb up!
Upon arrival, we were treated with excellent customer service by Louisa, manager. I also noted that other staff were also happy & friendly - which is always a good sign.
The room was a new suite and was really lovely & clean.
On our departure, Louisa was once again at reception and was very much obliging to assist in anyway...even a few extra sweets & newspapers for the journey home!!
Definitely 2 thumbs up! Happy, friendly & efficient staff/ clean, modern & tidy facilities - makes for a very happy customer!! We'll be staying again!!

We stopped here one night en route to Auckland. We had a one-brm ground floor unit in the rear block. The accommodation was quiet, tidy, well-appointed and well located. I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Will stay here again.
Be wary of booking system-Got a call to change the room we picked on-line, as it was double booked. Offered a better room for the same price, on arrival we were able to check in early, but the better room was taken so offered another!

Floor level Room- size adequate and clean, only down side for me was the walls are quite thin! ( Noise from foot traffic up the stairs, along balcony, and toilet/showers) Maybe should have had tv on.

Arrived to find that there had been a double booking. Very apologetic and wanting to put right. (I was not fussed about it) Really friendly staff and helpful. Comfortable beds and clean facilities. Surprisingly quiet motel despite the full carpark.
Light in our bathroom wasn't working and neither was the heater, but they kindly put us in another room, so that was nice. Friendly staff at reception. All in all, it was a great stay.
We stayed at the Twin Peaks Lakeside Inn for one night in March on our way home from a trip to the South Island. We have stayed at this place several times before, as the studios are not too expensive and we love going to the great little British pub next door for dinner & drinks. Such a good family-type menu there. Our studio room at the Twin Peaks Lakeside Inn was pretty small, but we had everything we needed there, and after all that travelling, we certainly appreciated the good night's sleep we had in the comfy bed! We will certainly be staying at Twin Peaks again next time we are in Taupo.
Light in the bathroom was not working so was put in another room where the bathroom floor was filthy and the towel rail had been ripped off the wall and there was nowhere to put your towel and clothing but on the dirty floor. I requested the bathroom to be cleaned this was not done nor was the room serviced.
Very happy with accommodation. Would recommend this motel to friends and family. Great that it was right on the water front
We stay here when business calls, but we also stay here for sporting fixtures or holidays as it meets all our requirements including price, situation and comfort.
3 bedroom apartment was great for family to share. Good quality & spa bath enjoyed. No playground for children though. Parking congested when full. Some crockery etc missing when checked in but staff supplied what was required. Air con in summer would be invaluable as the apartment became quite stuffy. Great place if you intend being out most days but on-site facilities limited fro families.
Location excellent, beachfront location is probably the best you can get.
No heatpump in the room that we stayed in.
The Room didnt feel as clean and fresh as it could be.
The linen probably could do with replacement.
Customer service met minimum but nothing over and above.
We stayed in a studio with views across the lake to the mountains. Very pleasant room. Excellent shower. Easy walk to the town but far enough away to not be disturbed by chuck out time at the pubs etc.
It would be nice to have a latch on the lake side door so that it could be hooked open. It doesn't stay open on its own. The additional air circulation would be welcome. Room was a little dark. A bottle of moisturiser with the soap etc would be a welcome addition. Otherwise would certainly recommend to other travellers. Reception very welcoming and helpful.
I stayed with my girlfriend for a long weekend in November to celebrate my 40th birthday. The room was a studio with a spa in the bathroom. It was a great room and the view over the lake to the mountains was stunning. The service was reasonable and the room clean although not spotless. We had an enjoyable stay and the only downer was that we couldn't get the spa bubbles to come on. We told the manager when we departed and they seemed interested to check it.
Overall a very good place and reasonable value for money.

Stopped over here for a night before heading to Mt. Ruapehu. Upstairs room was cozy and overlooking Lake Taupo. Unfortunately, kitchen floor was sticky. Quiet vicinity and very close to shops & pubs.
Service was Good. The Motel manager was polite and effecient. The rooms were a letdown. I had requested for a family room with 4 beds. what i got was a room with a queen and 2 sofa beds that were very uncomfortable. the kitchen had in adequate crockery/ cuttlery, did not even have a tea towel or a scotch brite for washing.
On the otherside the view was spectacular with the snow clad peaks of Mt Rupehu visible from the windows.
Twin Peaks was well located and the staff in the evening were very friendly. The fridge was so efficient it froze our milk, so no cups of tea in the morning! A slight negative was the duvet wasnt clean and we had to swap it. Would probably stay again if were passing through.
I also think the previous reviews are a little harsh. We were in the 2 bedroom apartment. It's basic but the apartment was clean. It was a short 5min walk into Taupo centre. Great location. I would stay there again.
Good clean accomodation need to pay extra if you want a 2nd level unit with a view of the lake
Clean tidy place with friendly people. Great place if you want to stay away from the nosie of the town.
Great location BUT not the nicest place we have stayed in. Room was unwelcoming and furniture looked like it came from an office. Room was also cold and towels were small and didn't dry very well. No hairdryeer in room either.
I was informed that the rooms were owned individually.
Don't think I'll stay at Twin Peaks Lakeside Inn again.
