Overview
Now there are two reasons to visit Taupo Bungy. Not only do you have the option to leap from a platform with latex attached to your ankles but now you can freefall on an extreme swing. Recently launched, this newest adrenaline rush adds another dimension to the plethora of adventure activities in Taupo. The addition offers those who are challenged by the idea of bungy jumping a feet first alternative while still having a mind blowing experience. An awesome combination option is available for those adrenaline junkies wanting it all. Double the rush.
The swing itself is operated from a platform 43 metres above the Waikato River. If you choose to partake in the swing experience the crew sign you up and go through all safety procedures. Then you're off to the platform for a harnessing. Once everything is in place and you are fitted with your full body harness the crew connect you and it's action time. So it's a brief countdown before the freefall thrill. Then swinging over the beautiful Waikato River is something else and this ride lets you swing in a massive arc for 5-6 minutes. The winch takes care of your ride back to the platform and then you can celebrate. This experience reaches speeds of 70KPH and you can take this ride solo or tandem.
