While the property looked nice when we first arrived, it soon became clear that attention did not extend to maintenance and servicing the rooms. Our washer/ dryer was broken, there were insufficient plates, cups, cutlery, chairs... for the number of people we paid for and the salt shaker was empty. While these are very small issues that we did get help with, it wasn't a great start for a '4 star' property and it rapidly got much worse. The rooms filled with thousands of bugs on dusk as we had opened the windows for fresh air. Rather than installing fly screens or providing an air conditioner, we were expected to have seven people in a compact town house with no fresh air. We were provided with bug spray but then had rooms covered with a layer of dead bugs that we spent our evening cleaning. We thought we had seen the end of problems until the first guest attempted to take a shower and the temporary fix on a broken shower head failed and water was sprayed all over the bathroom, right up to the ceiling and out to the hallway. We continued showering in another room down the hall but as we had to sleep in the original unit, were required to still use the dripping, bug covered bathroom for the toilet. Despite efforts in using paper to cover our hands when turning on the light switch, three people received an electric shock. Despite the enormous disappointment, wasted time and dangerous conditions we experienced, the company did not feel it necessary to compensate us in any way. We were told that the property is facing legal and financial difficulties and so no money can be spent on appropriate repairs and maintenance, and job insecurity is impacting on the level of customer service patrons receive. I would emphatically recommend that patrons looking for accommodation look elsewhere.
