- Made up of 33,000 ha, Egmont National Park is New Zealand's second biggest national park. With 13 entrances it's one of the most accessable wilderness areas in the country. It takes about 5hours to get to the top in clear weather - be careful though, conditions can change quickly.
- You must visit the Te Rewa Rewa bridge, part of the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway. It was designed to "touch lightly" on the Rewa Rewa side as that land belongs to Ngati Tawhirikura who asked that the design honoured their dead. Shaped like a rib cage unfurling, the bridge perfectly frames Mt Taranaki and is an excellent photo opportunity.
- The Taranaki Rhododendron and Garden Festival is famous for it's beautiful range of gardens - usually 50 +. Plan to visit in late October early November to see the flowers at the best.
- The Tawhiti Museum in Hawera is famous for it's life sized depictions of historic life.
Jasons has a wide variety of Taranaki hotels available across the region, ranging from luxury five star accommodations for corporate and business travellers to smaller boutique Taranaki accommodation providers. Plus you can check availability and book it right here on this site!
