"One of the things I love about Southland is that we are spoilt for choice when it comes to good food – and good company! Below are a few of the places I like to go myself" - Jaimee Blythe
Waikaia Commercial Hotel - this is just the best little pub around... well, I think it is anyway! It has a great atmosphere and an awesome outdoor area. They have a restaurant where you can get the best seafood chowder or some of their beer battered chips with the yummiest aioli on the side. The rest of the menu is very very good as well.
The Old Post Bakery Café - this bakery and licensed café uses our fresh local produce and makes delicious homemade pies and muffins. It's at 103 Main Street, Gore.
May Fly Café - this is a great place to stop for coffee and it also does wonderful homemade bread and cakes. Local anglers often hang out here, and there are dozens of fishing pictures on the walls. It's in Lumsden, at No. 13 Diana Street.
We know there are only 3 and we'd love you to add to the list, join us on Facebook to have a discussion about this or write to us here
