Anika Forsman, Communications Manager speaks on behalf of Destination Queenstown and tells us why they love Queenstown.

Stunning scenery that's pure inspiration - It's impossible not to be overcome by the sheer beauty of Queenstown and most of us who live here are fortunate enough to open our curtains to this stunning vista every day. Set between crystal clear Lake Wakatipu and the jagged snow-covered peaks of the Southern Alps, Queenstown is an inspirational place with a view you never get tired of.

Adventure Capital - Queenstown has a strange way of unleashing the adventurer in all of us and it's impossible not to get sucked into doing something that the pushes the boundaries. This place really is the Adventure Capital of the World.  There's nothing unusual about jumping out of planes, off bridges, canyons and careening down steep slopes – that's just what we do for fun and challenge you to do the same when you visit!

Food lovers paradise - Queenstown may be a small town but it certainly packs a huge bite, literally. Queenstown and Arrowtown is home to more than 150 restaurants, which means even after you've spent years living here there's always a place you haven't tried. The range is extraordinary, from highly salubrious to the truly cheap and cheerful. Prepare to loosen a few notches on your belt after eating your way around Queenstown!

A rocking good nightlife
- The nightlife in Queenstown is excellent all year round. The locals love nothing more after a day on the mountain than to sit in front of a bar’s roaring fire with a good glass of Central Otago pinot in hand. The resort is full of stylish bars, sophisticated clubs, Kiwi pubs, late night hot spots with funky DJs entertaining the crowds and there are always live gigs being played by local and visiting performers at venues around town.

Mountain madness - By the time skifields open in June most of us are chomping at the bit to hit the slopes. With Coronet Peak and The Remarkables right on our doorstep we don't have to travel far to get our hit of the white stuff.  Every local knows winter is officially here when the 10 days of the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival begins.  Discover why we think this is the Southern Hemisphere's biggest winter party at this year's Festival, kicking of June 25…

We'd love to hear about why you love QueenstownWrite to us about it or share your views on Facebook.
