Overview

Prime's central location, friendly service and stunning views make the restaurant an attractive destination for visitors, and the great char-grilled steak, seafood and game menu keeps the locals coming back regularly. Prime's beverage offerings have been carefully selected to suit both local and international palates. As Prime's lake views make it a popular destination for casual fire-side drinks as well as for dinner, there are some great wines by the glass, with a focus on local Otago vineyards.

Our recommendations
  • Filet Mignon char-grilled, wrapped in bacon and served with a roast tomato and mushroom sauce
  • Parsley and Cashew Crusted Lamb Rack on roast garlic mashed potato with buttered green beans and a rosemary and red wine reduction
  • Chicken Breast on a potato, pumpkin, bacon and spring onion rosti, served with melted brie, cranberry sauce and pepper tortilla crisps.
  • Crispy-Skinned Pork Belly with a manuka honey-apple sauce, balsamic glazed baby beetroots and mixed leaf salad
  • Smoked Salmon and Baby Clam Linguine in a creamy white wine sauce with diced tomatoes and spinach.
Open for dinner 7 days from 5pm. Entr e and dessert prices range from $9.50 to $17 and main courses range from $18 to $34.
