  • A championship quality parklands style golf course, Pukekohe Golf Course is often referred to as the ""Hidden Jewel of Auckland"". Whilst Pukekohe is a town in it's own right, it's conveniently close to the busy city. It's often quicker to drive to Pukekohe for a game than it is to cross Auckland city traffic! Roughly 30 minutes from Auckland's CBD, 20 minutes from Auckland Airport or just 10 minutes from central Pukekohe, it's worth the trip to enjoy a game in truly beautiful surrounds and maybe something to eat afterwards at the Clubhouse.
  • Set your alarm for early on Saturday morning because the Franklin Market in Pukekohe starts at 8am, finishing at noon.
  • Get in early for the best coffee, produce, pastries and other yummy things. Then stroll around and see if anything else catches your eye. A great way to start the weekend.
  • 17km from Pukekohe is Glenbrook with it's historic steam trains. Go back in time as you travel through the Franklin District countryside. Taking about an hour you will visit Waiuku and then return to Glenbrook pausing at Pukeoware Depot a look at other trains and rolling stock under overhaul or restoration.
