Privacy Policy

Jasons respects your privacy.

We will not sell any of the personal information you share with us, including your email address, to any other company for any reason.

The only information we will supply to third parties will be that contained on completed bookings or booking enquiry forms which are sent by you using the Jasons website. That information will be limited to that provided by you on those forms and will only be supplied to the organisation which you intend it to be sent to.

We operate an “opt-in” process for all consumer email newsletters distributed from the Jasons website. To receive our newsletters, you need to actively subscribe for them. If you wish to unsubscribe, you may do so at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email. Please be aware that if you make enquiries or bookings using the Jasons website, you will continue to receive emails from Jasons related to those specific requests or transactions.

Jasons advertisers will receive client update newsletters from time to time, providing them commercial information about Jasons. If you are a Jasons client and do not wish to receive these emails, please unsubscribe using the link in the email.

You can request at any time to see any personal information we hold about you in our database. You may also request amendments to this information at any time. For any such requests, please email us.

Website Customer Booking Policy – Terms & Conditions (NZ)

Introduction

A. Jasons (2013) Ltd (“Jasons”) established the Website to provide an online internet booking service to promote and sell accommodation and other services throughout New Zealand.

B. Jasons provides access to the Website on the terms set out in these Terms and Conditions.

Definitions

1.In these Terms and Conditions, unless the context requires otherwise:

“Terms and Conditions” means these terms and conditions, as amended from time to time;

“Website” means http://www.jasons.com, http://www.holidayguide.co.nz and any other website managed by or affiliated to Jasons; and

“You” means any person(s) or entity booking accommodation or other services through the Website.

2. By using the Website to book accommodation and other services you agree to accept and be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Website Information and Access

3. While Jasons takes reasonable care to ensure that all information displayed on the Website is accurate and up to date, as information on the Website is provided by third party accommodation providers, Jasons is not able to guarantee the accuracy of such information or that the Website is free of errors, faults or viruses.

4. Jasons reserves the right, at any time, at its discretion, to suspend access to the Website. Jasons shall not be obliged to give any reason for such suspension.

5. Jasons reserves the right, at any time, at its discretion, to remove or edit any information entered on the Website that Jasons considers to be unsuitable, misleading, out of date, inappropriate, contrary to any law or not optimised for search engine results.Payment Terms

6. Payment for accommodation or other services booked on the website may be made at the time of booking by debit to your nominated credit card or by POLi (Pay Online) directly from your bank account via your internet banking facility (refer to link http://www.getpoli.co.nz). The amount to be debited will be displayed on the booking page prior to you confirming your payment on that page. Depending upon the currency of the booking, your credit card's or bank account’s currency and the country in which your credit card was issued or your bank account is held, your credit card provider or bank may impose foreign exchange fees and other fees in accordance with the terms that you have agreed with them. Jasons accepts major credit cards (including Visa and Mastercard) but reserves the right at its discretion not to accept any particular credit card.

Age

7. To make a booking of any accommodation or other services displayed on the Website you must be at least 18 years of age.

Changes to or Cancellation of Bookings

8. To change any details of your booking, you must contact Jasons Customer Service Centre - click here for contact details. While Jasons will endeavour to assist you, Jasons is not able to guarantee that requested changes can be made. Note in particular that:

(a) bookings at certain accommodation providers, or in certain time periods, or for certain room types cannot be cancelled or changed; and

(b) some accommodation providers may permit cancellations or changes but may impose a charge.

This information will be displayed (see cancellation policy) on the relevant property details page and the booking page, which you can access prior to making a booking.

9. In addition, Jasons applies an administration charge to all bookings where payment was taken by Jasons. This amount is displayed on the booking page (and is in addition to any cancellation charges imposed by the accommodation provider) - click here to view the administration charge.If you fail to cancel a booking and do not check-in in accordance with the booking made, you will be charged for up to the full amount of the booking made.

Please note that there will be a $25 NZD administration processing cancellation fee from Jasons. Please reference your confirmation email for individual property cancellation policies as other charges may apply.

Check-in Requirements

10. As Jasons does not provide your credit card details to any accommodation provider you will be required to provide a credit card imprint/scan at check-in to cover incidental charges.

11. The person registering at check-in must be at least 18 years of age.

Liability

12. Jasons does not accept liability for any loss, damage, liability, claim or expense (however caused, including negligence, and whether direct, indirect or consequential) arising from the use of or connected with the Website or any accommodation or other services purchased on the Website. Jasons provides no warranty or representation as to the fitness or suitability of any product or service displayed on the Website. Where Jasons' liability cannot be excluded, to the extent permitted by law such liability is limited to the value of the booking made. Jasons do not over-sell inventory and does not accept liability for unavailability of rooms caused by an accommodation provider over-selling its own inventory.

Indemnity and Limitation of Liability

13. You undertake to indemnify Jasons on demand against all costs, claims, losses, liabilities and damages incurred by Jasons directly or indirectly as a result of:(a) anybreach by you of these Terms and Conditions;(b) any action or threatened action against Jasons for misleading or inaccurate information provided by you when using the Website.

Privacy

14. Personal information relating to or collected by Jasons in respect of the Website will be held by Jasons in accordance with the Jason’s privacy policy is displayed on the Website.

15. Jasons will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that all provisions of the Privacy Act 1993 are complied with in respect of personal information relating to or collected in respect of the Website.

16. Images and content on the Website may not be copied, saved or used in any format other than as incidental to your permitted use of the Website without the prior written consent of Jasons.

Variation of Terms and Conditions

18. Jasons may, at its discretion, from time to time, vary these Terms and Conditions.

General

20. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand

21. If any provision of the Terms and Conditions found to be unenforceable for any reason, then that provision shall be deemed deleted from these Terms and Conditions and all other provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Website Customer Booking Policy – Terms & Conditions (Australia)

All online booking transactions on www.jasons.com.au are made directly between the purchaser and the operator of the business being booked (“the operator”). The operator will directly charge the purchasers credit card themselves based on the details provided by the purchaser where applicable.

All changes and/or cancellations to reservations made through www.jasons.com.au must be made directly with the operator concerned. The operator reserves the right to make appropriate charges according to their policies, which are advised at the time of booking. The operator reserves the right to cancel a booking if any part of the booking is cancelled and the remaining booking falls outside of their minimum stay policy.

Jasons specifically assumes no responsibility for the correctness of prices and availability provided by the operator. The purchaser is responsible for checking that all details of their booking confirmation is correct and is as intended.

In event of an overbooking, the operator will inform the purchaser as soon as possible and attempt to rectify the situation by seeking alternative accommodation of a similar price and quality. If no alternative accommodation is available then the booking will be cancelled and any deposit paid will be refunded in full.

Jasons reserves the right to cancel any bookings that we believe have been fraudulently made. In such cases, any money paid by the customer will be returned only when the customer can prove their identity. In addition, Jasons will not be liable for any cancellation/no-show charges from the Supplier.

All prices quoted on the www.jasons.com.au website include GST where applicable.

Reviews Policy

Researching reviews is an important part of planning your perfect holiday. We hope that when you have an experience worth sharing, you’ll point the way for other travellers by sharing it on the Jasons site.

The Jasons website supports booth verified reviews and unverified reviews. When a review is marked "Jasons verified," this means the writer is a confirmed guest of the business being reviewed. Any review that does not display this badge is "unverified." This means the writer of the review did not book their visit using one of Jasons' booking channels (Jasons.co.nz, Jasons.com.au, Jasons.com, HolidayGuide.co.nz or a Jasons booking widget embedded on the business' website) and has not been confirmed by the business as a bonafide guest.

Please follow these guidelines to ensure that the reviews we publish are fair and useful for other travellers. If you abuse these policies repeatedly, you will be banned from contributing to the Jasons community.

Watch your language: Keep it family-friendly

  • No profanity, personal attacks, threats, prejudiced comments, hate speech, sexually explicit language or other non-family-friendly content.
  • No graphic reports of violent criminal activity, participation in drug-related activity, or events of a sexual nature.

Be real: Jasons’ reviews are by travellers, for travellers

  • Reviews must be based on your own experience, not second-hand information or hearsay.
  • Reviews written by ownership or management posing as guests will be removed. Current or past employees or anyone associated or related to employees of an establishment listed on our site are not allowed to post reviews.

Help a buddy out: Share useful information about the property

  • Jasons is not the place to launch personal attacks on a property owner or employee you do not like. Try to keep your review focussed on your experience at the business being reviewed, objective and relevant to other travellers.
  • Please don’t use personally insulting language, attempt a smear campaign or post content that is irrelevant to the business being reviewed and unhelpful to fellow travellers. Any content suspected of being spam will be removed.
  • Questions or comments directed to property representatives are not allowed. Please use an enquiry form or contact the property directly.
  • Questions or comments directed to or about Jasons staff or other Jasons representatives will be removed.

Valid e-mail and basic etiquette

  • The e-mail address associated with your account must be correct. We may need to contact you if there is a problem with your review, so no fake e-mail addresses, please.
  • Please follow standard etiquette when writing your review. Do not use ALL CAPS, excessive typographic symbols, HTML tags or slang.
  • Please do not include questions for other reviewers or comments about other reviews, reviewers or management responses. Try our Facebook page for help with travel-related questions.
  • E-mail addresses and contact information are not allowed in reviews, nor is promotional material of any kind. We reserve the right to reject any URL for any reason, and we consider attempts to promote yourself or your business spam.
