  • Cruises
Regular launch excursions allow visitors to see many of the enchanting bays in Queen Charlotte Sound. Dolphins and seals also frequent the waters.
  • Picton Community Museum
The museum contains early whaling artefacts and displays relating to Perano Whaling Station, which operated in Queen Charlotte Sound up until 1964. Other historic relics date back to the town's early days.
  • The Edwin Fox
This historic tall sailing ship is berthed on Picton's foreshore, and is the last surviving ship to carry convicts to Australia. It also operated as a troop carrier during the Crimean War.
  • Queen Charlotte Track
This popular walking trail affords magnificent coastal views from its ridge down onto the Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sounds. The track (67km) connects historic Ship Cove with Anakiwa, passing through lush coastal forest on the way.
  • Other Walks
A track to Shelly Beach and Bob's Bay starts at the Marlborough Cruising Club and continues for about a kilometre, passing several sandy bays along the way. From here, it leads to nearby Victoria Domain where it meets the track to the Snout Walkway (5km, 3hrs). This headland offers dramatic views of the Sounds from its tip.
  • Watersports
There is a full range of watersports from fishing and boating excursions to waterskiing and kayaking.
  • Te Awhina Kaha Marae
This meeting house contains some fine carvings and tuku tuku (decorated flax panels). At nearby Waikawa Bay, there is also the Maori waka (ceremonial canoe), Te Awate Te Hou.
