Opened December 2006, located on Queen Charlotte Drive between Picton and Havelock in a scenic rural setting at the head of Queen Charlotte Sound, adjacent to Anakiwa and the Queen Charlotte walking track approiximately 25min/20km from Picton and approximately 15min/15km from Havelock. 1 spacious units: 9 studio units; 2x2brm family units. All units self-contained with fully equipped kitchen, microwave, oven, freezer, ensuite, queen size beds, wireless broadband, Freeview TV. Electric blankets, heating, iron/ironing board, available on request. Swimming pool, barbecue, laundry facilities, off-street parking. Central to fishing, kayaking, mountainbiking, boating; 3km to restaurant/bar. Additional 8-room backpacker facility sleeps up to 16 (double/twin).     The Linkwater Motel gets 10 out of 10 from us. Katerina and Pat are the most helpful and generous of hosts and the value is unbeatable. My wife and I stayed there for 4 wonderful days recently and would like to say that it was one of our best stays in New Zealand. The units are spotlessly clean, spacious and tidy. Laundry facilities are free. Free cable internet connection ensures you are not left out of anything and you can Skype worldwide ad lib. Sandy's Inn, just down the road, does good food at very reasonable prices in a wonderful village atmosphere. This is an ideal situation to explore the nearby Sounds. Go there if you want to be near to nature and away from all the razzamatazz, you can still reach all that in half an hour or so from Linkwater. Do it, it's great.
