The Retreat offers holiday accommodation on a private 10-acre peninsula with a quiet bush setting, uninterrupted panoramic sea views, and only a short distance from Paihia. With birdlife, bush walks, fishing, and access to coastal walkway The Retreat is one of the best accommodation options in the Bay of Islands. Watch the sunrise, sunset, tide and the day go by.

You'll have a number of accommodation options: 8 spacious 1&2 bedroom studio units. All are off the main road and overlooking the bay with north facing furnished sundecks and ample car and boat parking beside each unit.

The convenient proximity to Paihia allows for easy access to an extensive range of Bay of Islands cruises, activities and cafes. The Retreat is a relaxed and private alternative to motel and hotel accommodation.

    This is a great spot, about 5 mins drive away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Paihia. Beautiful peaceful views and you can walk over the back of the property to a little bay that leads on to a board walk through the mangroves. There were 3 attached apartments in out building, but it felt quite private - and good value for money we thought.

    I spent 2 nights with some relatives.We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment..We had a gorgeous view over the bay..and a nice terrace to dine on or just relax.Very friendly staff .Much more convenient than to be in the city right on the main street .Nice garden around and a few minutes from the ferry to Russell and Pahia. Excellent place to stay I' ll give it a 4,5 out of 5 and will recommend the "retreat"

    We only had a short time at the retreat. But it was easy to find... the rooms were a fantastic size and were very clean and tidy. The hosts were very friendly. We would def stay there again!
