  We chose the Anchorage for its proximity to the beach and views of Russell and we were not disappointed with a first floor apartment. The accommodation is very well equipped and all the rooms offer a settee and coffee table as well as two small chairs making it very comfortable. The kitchen area is equipped with sufficient utensils to enable basic meals to be cooked. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the noise of vehicles slowing for the corner by the motel.

  "Outstanding!"

  Beautiful premises in a wonderful location, our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Anchorage. The unit we stayed in was well set up for a family, immaculate and comfortable. The double spa bath was a hit with us all! From the wonderful greeting upon arrival right through to check out, the outstanding service was a highlight. Despite the rain in the Bay while we were there, nothing could dampen our wonderful stay. Highly recommended!

  "Comfortable accommodation"

  Would rate the motel about 3.5 stars. We were promised milk for our tea and coffee but it didn't arrive. Woman on reception was a bit grumpy.

  We booked a one-bedroom unit at this motel via the Jason's website a few months ago and on arrival we were given a free upgrade to a two bedroom unit! Thank you.

  The owner was also very helpful at booking our trip to the 'Hole in the Rock' which included a 10% discount if booked by the motel. There were also some other discounts available to guests at local restaurants.

  The unit was clean and tidy with everything you'd expect. The motel is quiet and located within walking distance to town and the wharf. A great place to stay in Paihia.

  "Very Comfortable"

  Very friendly and helpful hosts. The property was comfortable but we felt that there were certain areas in the units that could have been a bit more modernized (finishing paintwork in the bathroom etc). Unfortunately we found the room we were in to be very noisy. There was a family next door to us on the second night and we could hear everything (including conversations) from the adjoining door in between. This would possibly be solved if there were double internal doors between the units. It's hard to find many properties that are very quiet but the walls seemed to be very thin. Overall though, we had a nice stay and the pool area is done very well.

  "Perfect busness stop"

  Stayed for one night while on business. Small room but very nice tidy room (looks like it was had a make over receintly). The Bathroom was very nice and modern, the shower was fantastic. Every room was booked out which means I probably got last choice.

  The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful.

  I will be back to stay during my next road trip.

  ""Wonderful""

  We had the pleasure of staying at the Anchorage Motel for two days in March prior to a family wedding and can honestly say that our stay there was excellent. Due to the accommodation and special thanks to Aileen it certainly got the wedding celebrations off to a great start.

  Location:- The Motel is directly across the road to the beach and 5 minutes walk into Paihia town centre.

  Rooms:- The room we stayed in, situated on the ground floor was very comfortable, recently refurbished, light and well decorated with all the modern appliances you would expect and inclusive of tea,coffee and milk. In addition the bathroom was massive and fitted with a whirl pool bath. Again all fixtures and fittings looked new and appeared to be of good quality. Room cleaned impeccably on a daily basis.

  Grounds:- There was a pool, jacuzzi and large BBQ situated to the front of the motel all of which our wedding party made good use of.

  Staff:- I cannot praise the staff enough, they where helpful and polite and even made arrangements for several of our guests to check in very late at night without any problems.

  Overall:- An excellent choice whilst staying in Paihia and would recommend the Anchorage Motel without hesitation.

  "Really enjoyed our stay"

  We stayed here for two days in March prior to a family wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms were very spacious and contained everything we needed for a more than comfortable stay. We made good use of the pool, hot tub and barbecue area. Staff were helpful and quick to respond to any requests for additional services. Will definately stay here again when visiting this area of New Zealand in the future.

  "Wonderful Accommodation"

  Fantastic location, clean and tidy rooms, very accommodating staff.

  We have stayed at the anchorage on several occasions over the past few years, our latest was for a few nights before our wedding In March, with our guests (20 people). We have always had a pleasant stay hence our return visits.

  Since our first visit in 2008 we can clearly see that the Anchorage has been renovated and updated. The motel has always been and continues to be a very clean and tidy place.

  The Anchorage staff were extremely helpful throughout the booking process and our stay.

  The complimentary use of the BBQ, Pool and Spa is always an added bonus and began our wedding celebrations in style.

  We would highly recommend the Anchorage if you are planning a trip to Paihia.

  Really great position, easy walk to town centre, wharf and restaurants. Very good service from proprietors, fantastic view from our room across to Russell, lovely pool and spa area and beach across the road. Our room was cleaned impeccably daily. We would definitely stay again.
