Overview

Anchorage Motel is a Qualmark 4-star plus Motel accommodation in Paihia, Bay of Islands. Accommodation on offer includes 14 fully self-contained apartments, serviced daily: 6 studios sleep 2-3 (access facilities); 4 x 1 bedroom sleep 2-5; 4 deluxe, spacious/studio and 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom interconnecting units, sleep 4-7, all with sea views.

All units come with fully equipped kitchen, filtered water, microwave, shower (2 deluxe units with double spa bath), hair dryer, king size beds, phone, wireless internet, 3-channel Sky TV, electric blankets, heating, iron/ironing board. Cot and highchair available. Cooked/continental breakfast available on request. Other facilities available are a large swimming pool, undercover spa pool in garden setting, laundry, tour desk, off-street parking and ample boat parking.

Tariff (seasonal): studio 2 persons $95-$195 and other apartments POA. Credit cards accepted include Visa, MasterCard and Eftpos. Anchorage Motel is a member of MANZ. Owner/operators are Denis & Aileen and they are 100% NZ owned and operated.

Anchorage Motel is located on the waterfront in Paihia, Bay of Islands. It is the first motel on the waterfront from the southern approach and 500m from the wharf. An easy stroll to Paihia shops, restaurants, cafes and information centre.

Paihia is where you can explore Waitangi, the birthplace of our Nation and Russell, New Zealand's first capital and the beautiful Bay of Islands.

"Perfect busness stop"

Stayed for one night while on business. Small room but very nice tidy room (looks like it was had a make over receintly). The Bathroom was very nice and modern, the shower was fantastic. Every room was booked out which means I probably got last choice.

The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful.

I will be back to stay during my next road trip.

""Wonderful""

We had the pleasure of staying at the Anchorage Motel for two days in March prior to a family wedding and can honestly say that our stay there was excellent. Due to the accommodation and special thanks to Aileen it certainly got the wedding celebrations off to a great start.

Location:- The Motel is directly across the road to the beach and 5 minutes walk into Paihia town centre.

Rooms:- The room we stayed in, situated on the ground floor was very comfortable, recently refurbished, light and well decorated with all the modern appliances you would expect and inclusive of tea,coffee and milk. In addition the bathroom was massive and fitted with a whirl pool bath. Again all fixtures and fittings looked new and appeared to be of good quality. Room cleaned impeccably on a daily basis.

Grounds:- There was a pool, jacuzzi and large BBQ situated to the front of the motel all of which our wedding party made good use of.

Staff:- I cannot praise the staff enough, they where helpful and polite and even made arrangements for several of our guests to check in very late at night without any problems.

Overall:- An excellent choice whilst staying in Paihia and would recommend the Anchorage Motel without hesitation.

"Really enjoyed our stay"

We stayed here for two days in March prior to a family wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms were very spacious and contained everything we needed for a more than comfortable stay. We made good use of the pool, hot tub and barbecue area. Staff were helpful and quick to respond to any requests for additional services. Will definately stay here again when visiting this area of New Zealand in the future.

"Wonderful Accommodation"

Fantastic location, clean and tidy rooms, very accommodating staff.

We have stayed at the anchorage on several occasions over the past few years, our latest was for a few nights before our wedding In March, with our guests (20 people). We have always had a pleasant stay hence our return visits.

Since our first visit in 2008 we can clearly see that the Anchorage has been renovated and updated. The motel has always been and continues to be a very clean and tidy place.

The Anchorage staff were extremely helpful throughout the booking process and our stay.

The complimentary use of the BBQ, Pool and Spa is always an added bonus and began our wedding celebrations in style.

We would highly recommend the Anchorage if you are planning a trip to Paihia.

"Great place to stay."

Really great position, easy walk to town centre, wharf and restaurants. Very good service from proprietors, fantastic view from our room across to Russell, lovely pool and spa area and beach across the road. Our room was cleaned impeccably daily. We would definitely stay again.
