- Make sure you visit Huka Falls to see some 220 000 litres of water go over the falls every second then head onto the Aratiatia Rapids to see the dam be let go. You'll see the water thunder down the river bed giving you and idea of just how powerful it is. The dam is released daily at 10am, 12noon and 2pm with a 4pm release in summer.
