North Island

  • You can visit White Island - the active volcano by boat or by plane or helicopter. You can only visit via an authorised tour operator.
  • Like your rugby? The New Zealand Rugby Museum is above the Museum in Palmerston North. With over 37 000 items logged, it's rugby heaven!
  • Whakarewarewa is also the home of a thermal village. The Tuhourangi Ngati Wahio people have long lived in the area and the geothermal activities are now a way of life. Check out their cultural performances (twice daily), learn about their myths and legends and find out about the area's history. Time it right and you could see the Prince of Wales Feathers & Pohutu geysers in action from dedicated viewing platforms.
  • Napier is famous for it's Art Deco Weekend in mid-February which includes fancy dress events, classic cars and jazz. If you've ever wanted to be part of the glitz and glamour of the thirties, Napier is for you!

Visit Jasons for a range of North Island bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation. Choose from B & B lodges and retreats, B & B breakfast studios and apartments; country and historic homes, villas and cottage bed and breakfasts. North Island accommodation has never been easier to find and book than right here on Jasons.
