, Ngatea is a good stop-off point on a long journey. The drive to and from Ngatea is beautiful and relaxing with extensive green farmland, animals by the roadside and hills in the distance.
The water gardens
are a popular attraction with their themed water features and the hot pools at Miranda are nearby. Ngatea was established in the early 1900s as a service town for the Hauraki Plains and is now a strong dairy farming area with a population of approximately 1100 people.
