  "Great views!"

  I really enjoyed staying here. The place was very clean, the bed was really comfy, handy location. The views were amazing, the only problem is that there is a camper van site just in front of the studio, so most times your views will be blocked by them, which is a real shame!

  "Weekend Away"

  We had a self contained bach with great views! The unit was basic but good for the price of $105 per night, especially with the views and being handy to soem lovely walks and not too far from the CBD. The unit was clean and tidy and we would definitely stay there again.

  We have stayed at Belt Road Holiday Park many times in the past and have always enjoyed our stay. The position of the park offers unbeatable views with amenities to match. On our last visit we had family from Brisbane with us and they shared our opinion of the park. We will be back for many more stays in the future.

  "Stay at Unit 1, Belt Road Holiday Park Great location - graffiti and how the unit was adviertised."

  Reasonable price, awesome location.

  I was disappointed with the disgusting graffiti under the top bunk(on the slats) - we booked as 2 adults and 2 kids, our eldest is 10. Just did not appreciate the graffiti at all.

  Also the unit is clearly advertised as having a Queen Bed and a Double Bed with a single of top - this was not the case at all. The bed in the bedroom was a double and both bunks were singles. It turned out fine, but just wish it was advertised correctly.

  Re: my two gripes as above, I told them when I went to ask for change of handtowel and dishcloth and tea towel, that in it self was not a problem at all, the girls forgot, not a big deal at all.

  "Great location, lovely views"

  We had a great stay at the park; owners were friendly and helpful, the place was clean and tidy with basic facilities, and we all enjoyed the quietness of the park. The kids also got to run around safely and play. Great place to settle for a while if you want to stay the night and tour or do things of a day.

  "Suitable for our needs"

  Was satisfactory for our needs, all we needed was a two beds and quietness. It's in a great location if you like the sea and amenities are good and clean. Only cons was the main light being above the bunks via a short string, we couldn't find any other light switch and the "street light" was attached to our cabin making the room quite bright. Area was 90% quiet, we could hear a few parties but nothing earplugs couldn't fix!

  the site was ok flat with good views but nearest toilet block a tierd and needed updating (relatives said block further away was nicer). overall good but seemed disorganised and to put us on separate sites (even though there was nobody on the sites in between!)

  The Holiday Park was very easy to find, and the cabin very clean and tidy. Looked out over the sea, the grounds were very well kept and it's a good walk to the central CBD and Len Lye's windwand - a really beautiful situation. No problems with booking or with noise.

  "Nice location, facilities could need redocoration"

  Nice location, most sites and cabins with seaview and view to New Plymouth harbour. Shower and toilet facilities need renovation! Facilities clean, but very old. We booked cheapest accommodation, so didn't expect a luxurious night, but unfortunately our cabin was very smelly. The owner upgraded us to a much nicer cabin without any hesitation. Thank you! Nice covered BBQ area.

  "Nice but small"

  The view was great but did get blocked by large campervans. Recommended if you want a romantic time as cabin is quite small, didnt stay our last night as had to share double bed with my child which was not comfortable no room for extra mattress. Everything clean and site handy to town. Would recommend paying the extra for a larger cabin if available.

  Their powered sites were very spacious, with substantial amounts of tenting sites and gorgeous views along the seaside. Belt Road is highly recommended with great facilities and a fast internet connection. All staff are very friendly and so are campers who stay there.

  "Good choice"

  We stayed for one night only as we were in transit to Wellington for Christmas. Reception staff friendly and helpful. The chalet was clean and equipped with everything we needed. It was lovely to sit on the decking looking at the ocean - not quite like the photo as there was the access track infront of us and there were caravans/campers on the grass strip beyond - but still between them we got the view. Well worth the stay.

  "Still the best"

  It is 10 years since we last stayed in a cabin at Belt Road Seaside Holiday Park and it is even better than we remembered. Great showers in the amenities block and really clean. We were disappointed that we booked too late to get the self contained cabin with the sea view that we stayed in many times when our children were young, but the cabin we had this time included a toilet and was bigger (great now the children are adults.) I would definitely recommend the location, so close to the beautiful walkway, overlooking the port and walking distance to town for the energetic. Location, location, clean, clean & friendly, friendly!! We are already planning our next visit.

  Our campervan stay at Blet Road Seadside was great. The staff we're friendly, facilites were good (although locking the toilets/showers at night, and having to use your personal key was a bit of an inconvenience), and would definitely recommend to future campers!

  "Short stay visit."

  Great site, lovely views and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. 20 minute walk into town, along the Coastal path, is very enjoyable. If you walk in the opposite direction towards the port you will come across a small cafe/restaurant that serves great breakfasts. All in all, a great place to stay and fantastic views of the sea. 5 ticks definitely.

  "Lovely comfortable, relaxing, with amazing outlook - 4 day holiday."

  We were told that Belt Road holiday park was at our friends back door.

  I then asked a friend who has relatives in New Plymouth about Belt Road Holiday park and she said she had stayed there recently with her two children and recommended it. I then went on to the website and liked the look of the motel unit with the view.

  We booked a motel unit for two adults and when we arrived we were thrilled with the cleanliness, location and the facilities provided.

  We had a lovely four day holiday at this location.

  Great spot with views, tidy campground, and a very comfortable unit with everything we needed. Fridge wasn't very cold however, we advised the camp manager and they will look into it.

  Good site and great location overlooking harbour and Tasman Sea. Stayed during Rugby World Cup, so fairly busy, but would be great in summer. Good restaurants 300 metres away at Breakwater.

  We had a beautiful view of the ocean. Paid a little bit more to have a power site. There are plenty of power/non power sites that do not have great views. We were lucky to be there off season - so ask before booking what view you will have.

  We stayed during the RWC and found that we weren't at the Holiday Park long enough to really enjoy the facilities, and the view. It was in a good position for the rugby and despite the rain we enjoyed the view in the morning having brekkie in our cmapervan. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

  We said we would love to go back again and stay a few days.

  This was a fun property our little private cabin was so cute and cozy, and the ocean view was amazing. I would recommend this location for low maintenance people who want to see the beauty new Zealand has to offer. I was disappointed that I asked for a 1 night refund because we couldn't stay I asked a month in advance and we didn't get it. Also I would recommend breakfast at pio pio.

  Had another awesome weekend with you all . Cabin was clean and very comfortable and warm. Loved the showers. Spectacula views and easy access to walk way clubs, pools and town. Love the friendly staff who are ready to help at any time with any problem, also give great advice. Kids had a great time there when we all came up one other time and very quickly made friends with other children staying at the camp. We all highly recommend this holiday park to all familys. Great happy place to be. See you all again real soon.

  Highly recommended. This family run business provided an immaculate, modern well maintained unit to us at a great rate. Their professional and courteous service in a period of very high demand was amongst the best I received in my stay in Taranaki. They are the very defintion of what hospitality should be. Communication before the stay, at booking time was also very good, and patience displayed when my credit card mucked up. Don't look anywhere else. Amazing views and a lovely beachside walk to town.

  Fantastic place to stay, the shared areas (toilets, showers, laundry and kitchen) are well mainteaned and kept very clean. We stayed in a 3 berth cabin and it was clean and very comfortable to stay in. I would recommend this holiday park to everyone and would happily stay there again.

  WE thorougly enjoyed our stay at the Seaside holiday Park. Though it was fairly quiet, the room was excellent and of course the views were superb. Yes we had to use the heater a fair bit during our stay, but thank you for making our stay pleasant. No problems at all. Loved it.

  It was a fantastic location to retreat to over the winter. While the accomodation remained warm and snug we were looking out over the early, morning sea from the kitchen area to the snow covered, glittering Mt Taranaki from the dining table - what a wake up!

  I have stayed at this holiday park on numerous occasions. My latest stay was a quick stop over while I was visiting friends. The room was clean and tidy and exactly as described on the web site. I already knew my way round so that was a bonus. I had the kitchen and TV to myself so that was great. Had a great nights sleep and really enjoyed my stay. The staff were very friendly. I recommend belt road to any one who is planning a trip to New Plymouth. The web site is very easy to use and it makes booking in so easy. you know exactly what room you are getting before you arrive. I always stay here when I go to NewPlymouth.

  Modern, large, clean, well appointed, free standing, self contained unit overlooking ocean and harbour.

  Plenty of dishes etc, good frig, microwave, kettle, toaster etc all new. Very private, heat pump, large clean bathroom, mains hot water, parking adjacent. A quiet location close to city.

  An excellent, well run camp. All facilities ( toilet block, shower and kitchen ) require a key which you pay a refundable deposit for. This ensures (so it seems) everyone takes responsibility for keeping the facilities clean and tidy.

  The tent site we stayed on was surrounded by hedges which gave great privacy.

  I would have no hesitation in staying there again.

  We stayed here in between tramping trips and it was ideal for us. It was a great location right on the coast, with sea views and a chance to relax. The facilities were very good, the staff very helpful and everything was clean and well maintained.. Its off the road so noise was low, though it is a big holiday park so its not for you if you are after something small and intimate.

  It was very clean and tidy. The view is to die for and the people running the site are very friendly. The only thing strange to me,was paying for duvets and towels, but that is maybe a New Plymouth thing. We never paid anywhere in New Zealand for things like this when staying in a cabin. Other than that, we would stay there again and enjoyed it very much.

  We stayed in the motel units, overlooking the sea. Amazing view. Perfectly relaxing. Walk down to the seafront walkway. Close to the aquatic centre. Within yards of the excellent Bach restaurant at the port. We loved the unit, our own deck with stunning sunsets and views over the ocean. Had considered a hotel in town but this was better.

  The self-contained unit we stayed in was great. Clean and ideal for 2 adults and 2 children. The bathroom was reasonably modern, and kitchenette adequate (we didn't do any cooking, as being on holiday why not find any excuse to go out for a meal or 2 ! (Just 2 elements to cook on if you are the keen chef). Parking right next door to the unit, and beautiful view of the sea etc, and covered veranda. Good having secure entry to the camp via swipe card, to help keep any undesirables out !

  Belt Road holiday park was awesome! we had the best stay here. The facilities were great, location was perfect and the staff were extremly helpful and friendly. I would definately return and stay here again next time i come to New Plymouth and have already recommened it to friends and family who have travelled there too. We weren't quite sure of the reason for having a key for the toilet block and laundry which was slightly frustrating if you had forgotten your key by the time you had got to the toilet block so if anything, i would change that or just keep the toiliet block open. BUT everything else was wonderful. Thank you

  This camp ground must has one of the best out looks in NZ. Great sea views and within easy walking distance of town and only minutes from the slipway area and some great cafes. Clean,tidy,helpful staff, all good, would stay again.

  Hi, this is the second time we have stayed at Belt Road in one of the Cabins. I have always found the staff helpful, quick and efficient on checking in and on checking out.... I liked the cabin we stayed in the first time because we had uninterrupted views but on our second stay we had camper vans in front but still a lovely place and we found the cabins clean, tidy and stocked with all your kitchen necessities etc... Would definately stay again ....

  We stayed there for three nights. Two nights in a tent and one in a cabin due to rain. The campsite itself is nicely located but a bit rundown. The toilet blocks and kitchen facilities are quite old and need a bit of maintenance (e.g. stove top elements in kitchen) but were sufficient for our needs for a short term stay. Toilets worked, showers were hot. Only other problem was with a few ants around the campsites and in the kitchen.

  The campsites are rather nice and divided by hedges. Not well used, perhaps, so the grass was still green and pleasant. Not a lot of drainage, apparently, as there was quite a bit of flooding around roads and on individual sites with some decent rain.

  The staff were very helpful and accommodating - moving us to a cabin on short notice, arranging taxis etc, providing leeway for moving out and limited gear storage if necessary.

  We found the facilities at this campsite great. There are more than enough bathroom/cooking/laundry facilities which are kept clean and well stocked. The location of this camp is ideal for those wanting to be within walking distance to town (about 20 minutes), close to the swimming pools, and having the coastal walkway readily accessible. Having a range of cafes located in the Port area, right beside the camp, is also of benefit to the camp itself.

  Security is good with access cards for both the gate and keys needed for toilet facilities.

  Our site, while having fantastic views, was probably more suited to a motor home than our tent, as we were very exposed in the strong winds.

  Good location, great views, but the site isn't really set up for campers travelling lightly - the kitchen doesn't have any utensils, pots, cutlery - no tea towels or dish washing liquid either! People in campervans might be better equipped for this site. A common area for campers to sit in at night would also improve the site.

  The campsite is average in terms of facilities, kitchen was awful and bathrooms were marginal. Building are old and concrete and you need a key to get into the toilets - not so good if there is more than one of you of different genders who needs to use them at the same time. On the up side I really liked the way the camp ground was set out - nice hedges between sites in order to keep privacy. Down side there was no pool and you can't really see the mountain from the grounds (even though they say you can...). Nice view of the ocean though! For options in New Plymouth it is ok, but I have been in much nicer places for the same price in other areas.

  The cabin was clean and entirely as expected, staff friendly and helpful and the view worth millions:-) all in all we had a great stay and would definitely return to a cabin. The only downside was the communal kitchen was yukky - wasnt't a problem as we bbqed and ate fish & chips but in bad weather or for longer stays this could be an issue.

  "A remakable experience in New Plymouth"

  Belt Road Seaside Holiday Park is very convinient for families whose seek fun and adventure. Its very accesible to city and to cycle coastal way and as a bonus there is a swimming center nearby where kids will really enjoy pools with waves.The campimg ground is set in a flat terrain overlooking the sea which make you feel relax and rested after a long trip around those beatiful places around Taranaki.The facilites are well equipt, it's clean and had a lot of friendly staff as well.

  We really had a wonderful stay in New Plymouth and experiencing the Mt. Taranaki Summit Climb is a fantastic experience which is really very fullfilling.

  We will definitely be back next year and again book at Belt road seaside park.

  The location is excellent and the general services on offer good, but this was the worst nights sleep I have had in a long time due to the uncomfortable bed. I would recommend staying in one of the cabins that do not have bunk beds for this reason or camping would also be a good option. Very convenient and friendly service.

  I personally stayed here with a tent,but noted that the cabins were all well spaced without crowding, most with wonderful seaviews. The powered sites mostly looked directly over the waters edge. All sites were well mowed, clean, with low hedging in between. Bathrooms and kitchen are older but beautifully clean at all times with microwave, small oven and cooktops a plenty.Laundry facilities worked well. There is planty of room to wander in peace. Location on the waterfront overlooking the harbour is superb, and only a 2km or so walk to CBD. Staying here was lovely, and I would happily come again.

  This was a well maintained park with clean facilities. Great location. Knowledgeable friendly hosts-recommended nice places to eat and places to visit-had some noisy neighbours but they were well managed by the hosts. Very accommodating when tent site was too small for our tent-no questions asked when we asked for another site. All in all we will be back.

  Belt Rd holiday park is a great place to stay in New Plymouth. Close to town, directly above the beach with a walk way down to the port, where there is swimming, kayak hire, seal colony tours and lovely cafes and a very nice restaurant. The amenities blocks are locked, with each campsite getting a key, which would have been slightly annoying if there was more than 2 of us, but maybe extra keys are available. All up a nice place to put up your tent for a stay in the Naki.

  "Great units at affordable pricdes"

  The unit was excellent and the service relaxed and freindly. The little heater warmed the room quickly which was great as we had a couple of cold nights. Unit was comfortable, clean and necessary conveniences were there. Hot water pressure was also good which is not always the case in these kinds of units. A great few days away from the city!

  "Large Ensuite Unit review"

  Great view from the cabin we stayed in. The staff were really friendly. The rooms had good heating (important as stayed on a cold weekend).

  On the flipside, it would've been nice to have had towells in the bathroom (only had a bath mat supplied) and more parking available given it was a cabin that slept 7 people and imagine this could be an issue in the busy time as it was empty when we were there so could park additional cars on a campervan site.

  Had good prices and would recommend to any one.
