Overview
Villa 10, nestled on a hillside above the sea, is the home of Graham, a builder who specialises in restoring Victorian villas, and Jenny, a textile artist who has her studio on the garden terrace level of the villa. She has created the hand-painted furnishings and interior design throughout the apartments, whilst Graham has done all the renovations.
Both apartments are totally private and self-contained with fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, laundry and spectacular views across Tasman Bay to the mountains of Kahurangi National Park. Tahunanui Beach and the waterfront cafes are a five-minute walk and the city centre a five-minute drive.
The Loft, on the top floor, is a stylish new apartment with all day sun, opening onto a stunning balcony. There is a luxurious super-king size four-poster bed in the master bedroom, and a double futon in a small sleeping loft. The kitchen has every modern facility. Sky TV, DVD, wireless internet access, phone; and original artworks throughout. $250-$270/double, extra person $25 each. Reduced rate after three nights; enquire about our winter rates. Breakfast provisions are provided, minimum stay of two nights. The west wing apartment retains the old world charm of 1908, with log fires in the spacious living and dining rooms. It opens onto the original wide verandah with ancient wisteria framing the sea view. It offers two bedrooms, one with queen size, and one with twin beds, plus a comfortable sofabed in the living room. $255 per night double. Extra person $25 each. Reduced rate after three nights.
