My husband and I recently stayed at the Oxford Court Motel for three nights. The motel is well situated being walking distance to Richmond Mall. We requested Unit 10 on the booking form, but were moved to Unit 2 as only 4 of the 12 units were operational after the flooding earlier in the year. Unit 2 is a small unit, with double/queen bed, small table with two chairs, sink, microwave, jug, crockery, cutlery and glasses. The staff were helpful offering us the use of an electric frypan if we wanted. Towels were changed daily, but rubbish tins weren't empty until we left. Our only complaint would be regarding the size of the bathroom. The shower was fine, but the basin in the bathroom was the size of a basin that you find in a toilet, no vanity. There was no plug for this basin. Above the basin is a window. Next door is the toilet, and if you excuse the pun, does not encourage sitting down on the job. The leg/standing room is limited as directly in-front of you as you sit down is a rack for towels and toilet bags, and the wall juts out slightly. Above the cistern is another window. My husband has a wet shave and there is no mirror in the bathroom. The mirror is located on the wall in the dining area of the unit. My other concern would be surrounding the lack of security locks on the bathroom windows. I would have like to have left these slightly open while we were out, but with no security locks felt this was a risk I wasn't prepared to take. The back of the unit is accessible (over a low fence) from the street. We didn't spend a lot of time at the unit, but it was fine for watching a little TV in the evenings and breakfast in the morning.
