Tent sites for all sized tents, great for anyone that wants to get away but not to far out of town. The Park offers fully functional kitchen/showers/toilets/ WiFi Cafenet/card phone and a great playground for the children.
Our cabin was clean and tidy. Close enough to drive into Napier but enjoyed being out of the town.
Very nice and tidy camp, stayed 2 nights in a tent for the mission concert.Loved that it had a very smart camp cafe for a yummy breakfast and coffees before we set off!
We enjoyed the camp very much and had everything that we needed. One thing was that we thought that the Kitchen needed another Toaster as we had to wait so long to make some toast, and a few other campers said the same. Everything was very clean. The campsite that we were allocated was taken by another lady and she had put her tent up as she wanted to be on grass and it had a table which would have been handy. T hey only stayed the one night.

We arrived and were greeted by friendly reception staff who pointed out where the shared facilities were situated in relation to our site. We took our dog, much appreciated, and we all enjoyed our break away. The toilets / showers were very clean and warm, although a note about the five minutes shower time starting when the coin is deposited would be helpful. The first shower resulted in less than two minutes of hot water.. We found the campsite clean and tidy overall, with a close proximity to the beach. I must say, however, that I have never had so many tent pegs buckle and bend while trying to peg down the tent. A gently, gently approach worked better than hard hitting. A great break away, even in the rain and tropical storm.
The cabin we had was clean and tidy, friendly welcome. Cafe on site was a bonus we had two meals there and they were great better than going into town. Would recommend this park to anyone and would go back again.
I have stayed at this amazing camp 3 times now and cannot find any fault. It has everything going for it,location, friendly efficient service and the new onsite cafe serves some fine food. Each time I have been back it has been better than the last.I highly recommend this camp to anyone who desires a quiet peaceful relaxing camping experience

Spent 5 nights and didn't get given a layout map of the place so wanderd around looking for ammenitiesTold there was a walking track nearby but not given directions - then found that the back entrance to the property was in a street that eventually led to the walking track!Have to pay for hot water with a coin operated machine situated OUTSIDE the shower room. Run out of hot water - no problem, open the door covered in soap (naked) and put more coin in slot! 5 minutes that wasn't, in a shower block with insufficent room to shower and change, and only 4 showers. Long wait until late in evening. Friends booked a cabin for 5 nights but had to pay for 6 because policy of must have 3 nights following new year's eve. Never, ever again...badly ripped off. No shop to speak of, didn't sell essentials and "cafe" needs revamp of sad menu and meals. Insufficient night lighting around site.
Hi Kerry, we were sorry to read your review and hear your disappointment with your stay at our Holiday Park, and not having a chance to put it right before you left. We are very proud of the holiday park and especially our brand new cafe/reception which only opened on the 22nd December 2011. We designed our great value menu to suit guests of the holiday park to be affordable and casual, so were disappointed to hear your comments about the cafe as we have had nothing but positive feedback about it. Also if you had looked to your left as you were checking in you would have seen a small shop containing cold drinks, ice creams, milk and other essentials. If you had asked our staff to point it out to you they would have happily done so. We always have someone on reception from 8:30am - 9pm and our staff are very friendly and approachable should you have asked for directions to the pathway they would have been happy to take the time to show you & give you a pathways map. As for site maps, we do not give these to every one checking in like some other parks in a conscious effort to keep waste to a minimum instead we have road signs & signage with site numbers etc to point you in the right direction. We have a Qualmark Enviro Silver rating and this is partly because we keep water consumption down by having metred showers, and the metres allow you to put more than $1 in at a time so that you can for example pay $1.40 & get 7 minutes of shower time so that you are not restricted to 5 minutes or have to top up half way through your shower. Also our three night policy applies over Christmas and New Year, we do this so that we can give our cleaning staff these days off to spend with their families and we turn down a lot of bookings to honour this policy over these dates and this is explained at the time of booking. The site that you stayed on was a beachfront powered site overlooking the sea which is 30metres from a street light and the ablutions block is visible from the site that you stayed in.
Recently we spent a night at the Snapper Holiday Park, Self Contained Unit, Bay View, Napier.
We were in unit 9 right by the sea and it was most comfortable. With the sea view and gentle breaking of the waves not too loud. Large flat screen tv, (sky coverage would have been good)
Comfortable queen size bed and everything clean and tidy.
These units also have a small room with 3 bunk beds, which would make them good for parents with children, (older ones maybe as the top bunk was really quite high.)
They also had a coffee plunger but you must take your own ground coffee.
Milk was provided.
We initially booked the small cabin but upgraded to the s.c.u hence price $118. Reason for this was we didn't feel like sleeping in a bunk bed even if it was a double with one above which was offered in the little tourist cabin.
Great camp right on the ocean slept with the soothing sound of the ocean very sheltered tent site and good facilities. We will be back for a bit of fishing next time.
Friendly and helpful, made us feel we were the first to get the introduction to the camp, even though 1,000s have gone before, and great location by the bay - even had a swim before we took off next morning. Highly recommended.
We are from Melbourne Australia and were advised by relatives that Bay View Snapper Holiday Park is a box to tick when travelling the North Island of New Zealand.
After 10 days on a very fast paced coach trip we needed to unwind before heading back to the office. We hit the jackpot. Bay View Snapper Holiday Park is total relaxation. Take it from me the Beach Cabins are a must. You go to sleep with the sounds of the waves crashing to the shore, it is magical. The location to tourist attractions is tops.
Hi Don, thank you for your review. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us as I remember you really were keen to find a place to unwind after your adventures down south! We look forward to seeing you both the next time you visit New Zealand! Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year ahead! From the Staff at Snapper Park
