Nicely designed and in modern colours and equipment. Cooking facilities are very basic, but the bathroom top notch - with the very best shower ever!!!

We booked in advance, got an e-mail to confirm, but when we checked-in, due to computer problems, our on-line booking was not received/seen. The host lady just gave her last room away just before us. In these modern times, especially if you have to run a business, there are other means to check on-line bookings or you take care that your system is up and running.
She rang another accommodation where we could get a room but not under the same condition.
Initially I made an error with my booking, by one month. I called the Motel and this was not a problem.
I was very impressed with the unit it had been refurbished tastefully and was very clean and had all the appliances in good working order. The shower is one of the best that I have used in a motel. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The motel is away from the main highway and was quiet at the time we were there. The two bedroom accommodation provided everything needed for a one night stay and was very good value for money. There were plenty of towels, electric blankets on the beds and everything was clean.
Spacious room and super king bed a treat to sleep in.
Everything in unit spotless.
Mini kitchenette - microwave only - a little challenging to cook a meal, but owner very helpful and provided additional cookware

Murchison Motels were clean, roomy, comfortable and warm. There were loads of extra blankets and bedding, electric blankets on the bed, and a huge lovely bathroom and shower. Would definitely recommend and will be staying there again. Thanks!
Very deighted with this property, definitely recommend this motel, clean, modern and quite. Great example, that not all great places are in big cities or towns.
Very well situated motel right in the heart of the town so all facilities easily accessible. Well appointed room with lovely decor and the walk in shower is awesome.
We arrived to this hotel after a very long and exhausting day in Murchison. I made the reservation a week in advance after a diligent search and was willing to pay a bit higher than the average nightly price for this hotel because it looked really nice and also had a king size bed. But when we arrived there we were shocked to learn that the manager made a mistake by booking us to a different day and that they were fully booked for the night which we were supposed to stay. The lady at the reception (I am guessing she was the wife of the hotel owner/manager) called her friend who owns a currently non-operational B&B and found a room for us. All that was acceptable even tough we were going to spend the night in a place which we did not choose. The problem was with the unacceptable attitude of this woman who said that we were very lucky and should be thankful to her for finding us this room. Although the mistake belonged to them, this lady was acting as if we should be thankful. Then I asked the obvious question: is it still the same price? I certainly did not want to pay that much to a room which was not operational and which I did not see and approve before. At that point, she got furious and said to me "I cant deal with you" and called her husband in. Her husband did a much better job in handling this situation and acted in a much mature way by offering us the option to pay less if we don't like the alternative. At the end, the B&B was ok but definitely not worth the high price I was originally planning to pay to this hotel.
What a nice place, very spacious rooms, clean, tasteful furnished, all you need to have a relaxed stay and a good night's sleep on comfortable matrazes.. Highly appreciated was the warm welcome after a long journey and the helpful recommandations for a good place for diner.

Excellent stay at Murchison Motels. Spacious, clean, tidy, comfortable beds with different kinds of pillows, and great shower. Nice colour scheme. Very close to restaurants and cafes. Will stay again next time we come through.
Only stayed one night but well pleased with standard of facilities and helpfulness of staff.

Very sorry about the over charge Allan.Our prices went up in October to cover our gst increase. We did not see at the time that you had made your booking back in June. If you had pointed out the fact you had been quoted $130 we would have charged $130. We have your details & will be sending you a $10 refund.

A lovely motel room with plenty of space. Well furnished and presented. The bathroom was fabulous. We stayed in many places across New Zealand and this was definitely our favourtite. Wonderful views of the mountains.
I was shocked at the lack of customer service at this motel. We had car trouble on our way to the motel, the phone number didn't work, and when we arrived at 10pm, they were closed and there was no way to reach anyone. We came back first thing in the morning to explain what happened (after leaving a note on the doorstep) and the woman was completely rude and unaccommodating. I would not recommend staying here to anyone. The lazy cow is a hostel a block away and is a million times better--totally accommodating and the price can't be beat!
We are contactable 24-7. No contact was made. Your eta was 3pm. I watched a TV program that after checking finished at 10.30pm still no show.I spoke to Ali from The Lazy Cow she remembered you as very late arrivals but could not remember the time. Very sorry girls but it is not my fault you got lost. If you had made contact we would have directed you to your motel unit. As for the rudeness it is not the sole wright of guests to be rude.
