Ski and Board Mount Hutt

Ski & Board UpdateNestled in the heart of the Southern Alps near the resort town of Methven, Mount Hutt Ski Area receives some of the deepest, lightest, driest powder in Australasia. Mount Hutt's altitude ensures a reliable snowfall, which lasts longer than any other ski area downunder.

Spring skiing is excellent and long runs off the Triple Chair make Mount Hutt a favourite with snowboarders. Wide, open trails provide easy learning for novice skiers. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced powder hound, Mt Hutt has it covered. A highlight are the adrenalin-inducing double black diamond runs on the south face.

At the base of the mountain, the bustling village of Methven offers lively apres ski bars and restaurants blended with the charm of a rural high country town. There is a daily shuttle service to/from Methven and Christchurch. Mt Hutt will also be one of the hosts of the 100% PureNZ winter games, this year held in August 13-28th.
