Matauri Bay is a beautiful Northland
beach and has everything required for a relaxing sun, surf and sand holiday - a superb stretch of sand, walking tracks and fun on the water. There are panoramic views over the headland and out to the Cavalli Islands from the ridge above the bay.
Matauri Bay is renowned as a dive site and the place where missionary Samuel Marsden first landed in New Zealand in 1814. His visit is commemorated by the Samual Marsden Memorial Church on the road into the bay.
