Takatu Lodge & Vineyard is located in the Takatu Peninsula in Matakana. It has received positive reviews from The Daily Telegraph and The Australian and has won Rodney District's 'Most Outstanding Accommodation Experience ' for the past 2 years running.

Staying at the Takatu Lodge & Vineyard gives you the opportunity to experience luxury living while staying in a working vineyard. It consists of 4 luxurious suites, each with their own terrace and garden view. Breakfast is available to guests at the lodge and is made from locally grown organic produce. The Takatu Vineyard surrounds the lodge and guests have an opportunity to visit the vineyard, pluck the grapes and crush them as well. The vineyard is known for growing Pinot Gris and Merlot grape varieties. Its wines have received accolades from the Sunday Mirror, UK and from Michael Cooper, the NZ wine critic.

Matakana is an hours' drive from Auckland and is located on the banks of the Matakana River. It is located quite close to Snells Beach and Omaha, both of which are known as good surfing spots. The marine reserve at Goat Island is also quite near to the town.
