The unit was spacious but the decor was very dated. The housekeeping in the bathroom was not very good and the washcloths were disgusting. .
Great owners but unfortunately the unit we had was very tired. Not just tired but very tired and not worth $125.00. This is unfortunate as I could see some of the units had been refurbished and no doubt they would be a lot better. The grounds are just magic and everything is clean.

Warm and comfortable room. Real milk :) but no Earl Grey Tea :( Amazing pressure in the shower. Lovely family running the place. Very very quiet. Will stay there again when I am next in Masterton.
our stay was excellent, the service was prompt friendly and very helpful. The owner went out of her way to help us out with directions etc.

My opinion is that the motel was over priced for it's age and presentation. I can't complain about the service, but was disappointed at the style of the room, which were very outdated. The shower was very old, kitchen, etc as well.

The title says it all for us. Decent, clean room for price although we found the heater in the room a little lacking as it was an extremely cold night when we stayed. The customer service could have been friendlier according to hubby and lastly, good luck if you have left something behind and emailed them to ask if it was found! I emailed them to ask after something hubby left behind and got no reply at all via email until we rang. I mean, it is after all a hospitality industry and hospitable definitely lacking. But if you wanted a cheap, clean place to stay - this is the place to go.
Lovely clean room, warm comfortable. We highly recommend the Highwayman Motel to anyone.

This was a last minute booking - looks good on the website. When we arrived note on door to say what rooms we were booked in as manager/owner was picking up children from school, thought they would have had someone on reception to cover for arrivals Not a very welcoming start. Rooms very dated and dark, fridge leaked all over kitchen floor, microwave mounted on wall very very crooked There is an aviary out the back with birds and turtles - this was disgusting - didn't look like it had ever been cleaned. Our sister-in-law was staying in another room which was by the vending machine outside which was really noisy, thought that should have been by the reception area. When we checked out there was no "how was your stay etc". Would not recommend.

The greeting was not warm and welcoming but could have been that we arrived at dinner time as reception was better when we left. Fridge not working properly, taps kept dripping . The cleaning ladies where lovely and a lovely little town .
It's a very nice and cozy motel situated near shopping areas. It's clean and comfortable. The kids enjoyed their playground.
