  • Kaikoura – With snow-covered mountains dropping to a spectacular coastline, Kaikoura’s vista is almost surreal. The town is famous the world over for its marine wildlife adventures – paddle your own kayak, get in a spot of whalewatching, swim with the seals and dolphins, enjoy an albatross encounter, or explore the beautiful Kaikoura wilderness on a guided walk.
  • Marlborough Sounds – Any view of the Sounds is breathtaking, but it pays to delve a little deeper on the region’s hikes or mountain bike trails. The labyrinth of bush-lined peninsulas and bays is also home to a wealth of marinelife, including birds, dolphins, seals and whales.  You can go diving, sea kayaking, jet skiing and cruising, or charter a luxury boat for the ultimate trip around the Sounds.  Fish are plentiful here too, so cast a line and hook up.
  • Picton – It’s hard to beat Picton’s prime location at the head of the magnificent Marlborough Sounds. Tuck into the local oysters straight from the Sounds, explore the wineries by bike, or take a cruise to enjoy the area’s wonderful scenery.
  • Blenheim If your idea of the outdoor means dining alfresco, you’ll be right at home in the sunny wine town of Blenheim. Head to the town’s piazza fro a lightly chilled sauvignon in the sunshine or join one of the local wine and food tours and dine among the vines. Take to the skies for scenic helicopter flights, view the vintage aircraft at the local aviation heritage centre or venture into the surrounding countryside for hiking, cycling, fishing, picnicking and horse trekking.
  • Wine Adventures – You can’t really say you’ve experienced Marlborough until you’ve sampled some of its world famous wines. Many of the wineries around Blenheim and Renwick area offer lunch and dinner is beautiful vineyard settings and there are art studios, olive groves, distilleries and breweries to discover along the way.
