Roundhill Ski Area

Ski & Board Update
Roundhill       Intrepid

Typical Season: Early July – October

Roundhill began life as a beginner's ski field placed perfectly atop a small domed hill. This made it incredibly popular with families who appreciated the ease in access and the easily managed and watchable terrain.

Present-day Roundhill is a little different, well a lot. Thanks to a nice long nutcracker rope tow, the beginner's area has been joined with a larger mountain face. The 780m drop is the longest vertical in Australasia and offers up superb, long natural half pipes and chutes for the more adventurous skier or boarder.

Central Park is Roundhill's Terrain Park – heaven for a boarder with tables, boxes, kickers, rails, rollers, platforms and jumps galore designed for everyone – novice to expert. There's even a line with 3 platforms for boxes, rails and jumps. Designed to work with the natural terrain, sculpted take offs and landings ensure a challenge no matter your skill level.

Roundhill is a 35min drive from Tekapo village, 3.5hrs from Christchurch, and is the half way mark between Queenstown and Christchurch.

Roundhill offers competitive day and season passes, especially when compared to Queenstown or Wanaka.

There isn't accommodation at Roundhill, but there are plenty of options at nearby Lake Tekapo.
