Overview

Kumeu River Wines Ltd was established in 1944 by the Brajkovich family and is still owned and run by the Brajkovich family. Kumeu River produces world-class wines from grapes grown in the Kumeu area and is especially renowned for their distinctive Chardonnays. Other varieties include Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Merlot. Kumeu River wines are carefully crafted by winemaker Michael Brajkovich MW using only indigenous or wild yeast which give the wines a unique character and sense of place. This is particularly well displayed in the range of Chardonnays: The entry level 'Village' Chardonnay, the world renowned 'Estate' Chardonnay and three distinctive single vineyard Chardonnays: Coddington, Hunting Hill and Mate’s Vineyard. All of these wines have received many accolades from around the world in respected publications such as The Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, Decanter and Australian Gourmet Traveller WINE.
