Overview

Australian artist, Louisa Geddes and her Papillon dog Holly welcome guests on arrival and ensure an enjoyable stay. Louisa has an international background and has been a hostess for travellers in Australia and New Zealand since 1997. Galleria Bed and Breakfast is a central village waterfront location in the historical precinct with panoramic harbour views. Louisa's gallery and studio are surrounded by terraced gardens and a pagoda that overlooks Mototiti Island. The most photographed in New Zealand. Sunrises and moonscapes are a feature in this very romantic location. Local cuisine is a specialty dependent upon the seasons and suppers are provided by request.

Kohukohu has a very artistic eccentric community with a strong Maori influence. The village life is very vibrant and the locals welcome a chat. Kohukohu was once the hub of the kauri trade and features interesting architecture especially the traditional kauri villas which can be viewed on the historic walk. Bookings are essential and local knowledge happily shared to make your Hokianga experience unforgettable so if you are looking for romance or an adventure come and join us.
