    "amendment to previous review"

What a shocker 3 days towels never changed and every day we came back to the heater being turned down and thus a freezing unit. Fair Go Invercargill is cold at this time of the year what sort of host turns heaters down. Had owner "lecture me" about the fact that the compendium states towels have to be placed in bath or they are deemed to not being replaced. I admit I did not read this compendium at first glance it seemed 80% full of advertising but I did read a clear laminated sign above the kitchen bench that said towels and cloths and tea towels were changed every day!! The bath mat, tea towel and face cloths were changed yet were not placed in bath but towels were not - go figure. Owner claims unit stays warm with curtains closed so heater can be turned down - obviously never stayed in one of her units in winter because this is not the case. We rented unit for 3 days I say leave it alone if we have left the heater on its for a reason!!

It is so sad that the original remarks from this guest were posted while he was staying at the motel. After I read the comments I went and spoke to him. I apologised for not changing the bath sheets which were draped over the dining room chairs each day when I serviced the unit. I asked why he didn't tell me he was unhappy. The sign referred to in the unit also explains that if a guest wants the heater and electric blanket turned on prior to returning back to the unit to let me know and I will do it for them. As the weather was cold when this guest visited I never turned the heating off but did turn it down as the units are fully double glazed and draped and in the interests of safety heaters are turned down while the unit is vacated. I happily allowed an early check-in and provided complimentary laundry access, free WiFi and met all other requests made by the gentleman who booked the unit. I would have been just as obliging had this guest made his concerns known to me. To avoid any further misunderstandings and because I care about the service I provide for my guests I have put Protect Our Environment cards in the bathrooms.

the only negative from my stay was our unit didn't have an oven. it had a microwave and 2 hotplates but no oven which made heating pies for dinner, rather ordinary

Thank you for the feedback. I am sorry about the oven. I do have a mini oven available for guests to use. I will make that clear to any subsequent guests.
