Top 5 Bike Rides in Hawke’s Bay
Anna Bland is the Manager of Arataki Honey Visitor Centre and has a keen interest in biking.
“I love living in Hawke’s Bay Wine Country, not only for the biking but the wineries, the beaches and of course the weather.”
As an avid mountain biker (although I can be a bit of a nana!), I can’t go past the Pan Pac Eskdale Mountain Bike Park. This park has some challenging tracks which will really test your skills, but are so rewarding once you get to the top as the views of Hawkes Bay are amazing. This is a favourite of mine on the weekend.
Rotary Pathway, over 56km from Bayview to Havelock North – This pathway
is a absolute joy. Great for kids and not too hilly. I love doing the
Ahuriri – Taradale loop which is about 35 km. You’re never far from a
refreshment stop - be it an ice cream or a diversion to the cidery.
Another favourite part of this pathway is Clive to Havelock with Arataki
Honey Visitor being a 5 minute ride from the end of this track.
Tuki Tuki Circuit. This a great 35 km training loop with a few gentle hills to challenge the legs. Great for the ‘roadies’. Great views of Te Mata Peak and, on a very clear day, Mt Ruapehu.
Ohiti Circuit – this is for the more serious roadie who wants a nice long ride – with great views of the Kawaka Ranges on a nice day. This fantastic ride can start from either a Hastings, Taradale or Napier.

Any ride in the Hawke’s Bay is great, just get on your bike and ride!
