"Family Unit - Maximum 10 people" This was given a review of 2 stars (Below Expected)

I would recommend it as reasonable family accommodation for the budget conscious if the leaky roof was fixed and the ants eradicated.

"cheap and nasty." This was given a review of 3 stars (Average)

Stayed in one of the caravans. lights worked, powerpoints didn't, dead flys on the Tabel. I won't stay there again.

"Cheap and cheerful." This was given a review of 3 stars (Average)

Our family of 8 traveled to Havelock North for a wedding at Craggy Range Winery. After looking at local motels we decided to stay at this property mainly because of the size of our family and that it had a motel unit that slept 10. Anywhere else we would have had to get 2 or 3 units. For the price it was clean and adequate for our needs. Plenty of blankets, heaters and hot water so if you are not after flash this is a good place to stay and very close to vineyards and short drive to town.

"Arataki Motels & Holiday Park" This was given a review of 1 star (Poor)

We were not even booked in so lucky they were not busy, as we wouldn't have anywhere to stay.

"Very old and outdated rooms, uncomfortable beds" This was given a review of 2 stars (Below Expected)

Room was very old and outdated but was clean and tidy. Single bunk beds had thin hard mattresses and uncomfortable. Main bed was a double - thought beds were bigger when I booked room so disappointed. Ended up sleeping on the couch which was more comfortable than the bed anyway. TV was only a 14" and too small to enjoy watching TV so didn't bother. Kids play area looked awesome but didn't stick around for the kids to play on it. Our family also staying at this place were disappointed also. OK for one night but wouldn't recommend these units for a holiday.

"Pleasant stay" This was given a review of 5 stars (Excellent)

We stayed in an onsite caravan and enjoyed the space it offered and the setting. Great amenities, always spotlessly clean and very friendly accommodating staff! Conveniently situated to most attractions in Hastings & Havelock North and only a little drive to Napier (almost amongst some of the vineyards)

"Huge!" This was given a review of 4 stars (Good)

Trying to book for accommodation for a group of five can be quite challenging...

We weren't too worried about the quality of accommodation, just looking for somewhere to sleep that wasn't going to cost the earth. As such I checked out Arataki holiday park and found a motel room that claimed to sleep 10. For the 5 of us it cost under $200 for the night.

I must confess my expectations weren't very high, but as it turned out we were very impressed. The decor was a bit dated but it wasn't shabby and the level of cleanliness was very high. And the motel was absolutely huge, with (I think) 3 separate bedrooms plus more beds in the lounge.

It's slightly out of town, but chances are you drove a car to get there anyway.

The kitchen was well stocked (and they weren't mean with the hot chocolate sachets) and the beds were comfy.

The Arataki honey place is on the same street, I recommend getting some mini pottles of honey for breakfast.

In summary, if you don't care if it doesn't look posh and you have a big group of people this place is ideal and really great value for money.

"great relaxed spot" This was given a review of 5 stars (Excellent)

Good spot set in the country, much more low-key than central Havelock (although the developers are fast encroaching with subdivisions springing up apace) and for honey-lovers Arataki is just up the road. Warm welcome, good facilities, would go back.
