We only stayed one night on our way south, but the hosts are so welcoming and accommodating that it made our one night very pleasant. Would recommend to anyone.
Had an excellent stay at the clansman. Although we only stayed for one night the service we received from the owners.
The room was really nice with a separate room for my daughter to stay in.
They helped with our washing and when I realised I had left my prescription sunglasses they arranged them to be shipped to my friend in Auckland.

Very clean Motel. Lee makes sure you feel welcome and is ready to help you in any way. Lee's recommendations are top! The pool was very nice and clean and in the evening you even can drink something in the bar. If we ever get back in Hastings, this is where we would stay again.
Friendly hosts, close proximity to Hastings CBD and 5 mins drive to Havelock North. Even received half price to Splash Planet from the management at Clansman. Great pool and laundry facilities. Roomy unit. Shame no sink in kitchen area and the water pressure in shower needs attention, however adequate for the week whilst son playing rep cricket.
Nice place, V Clean, tidy, Staff and Owner very helpful. Good location easy access. Recommend it ! Good for family.
The accommodation was good, cleaned every day as well as rubbish taken away. The main room was slightly on the small side as it was difficult to place a dining table in it. However a TV upgrade in progress allowed the space occupied by the old CRT TV potentially to be used for a table and chairs. A table and chairs outside the sliding door to the accommodation allowed al fresco dining.
Overall the accommodation was excellent value in line with many other motels in NZ.
The owners are very enthusiastic at meeting their guests requests and if anything is not up to standard. It will be put right immediately or asap.
We were made very welcome on arrival.
My husband & I visited NZ for 2 weeks during the Xmas/New Year holiday period - played golf from North Island to South Island. As we wanted to play golf in Cape Kidnapper, we chose Clansman for its close proximity to the golf course and it's affordable pricing. Our accomodation was clean and comfortable. We had a good night sleep before our golf game and a long drive down to Wellington.
The owner Leigh was very helpful - recommended us a few other good golf courses to play in North Island - a good tip for our next trip to NZ.
Excellent accommodation with friendly hosts who go the extra mile to ensure a fantastic stay. Highly recommended.
I am grateful to Leigh and Maree for their superb hospitality, how they made sure I was comfortable and had all I needed while staying at The Clansman. I highly recommend this motel as a place to stay for anyone while in Hastings.
My weekend at the Clansman was enjoyable, relaxing and the staff were great. My most recent stay was my 2nd stay at the Motel and wont be the last.
I would recommend anybody heading to Hastings to checkout the Clansman.
Well worth the price
Helpful, friendly, informal. Room was spotless and comfortable. Very relaxed atmosphere and you feel genuinely welcome - and the tariff is helluva cheap for the high standard experienced.
On future visits this is the ONLY place I'll be staying.
Great motel, made even better by the hosts. Went out of their way to help us out all weekend. Lovely big breakfast on the deck in the sun. The house bar was nice too - there's everything here you need for a weekend in the Bay. Rooms very neat and clean. We will definitely be back.

As per the road side sinage, the hosts here do go the extra mile, nothing is a problem, breakfast in the sun nothing but perfect. Beautifully presented rooms, excellent room rates and great value at the house bar. Thanks for an enjoyable stay at the Bay

The hosts at this motel were very helpful - they taxied us to the races on both days. Very clean accommodation. Lovely big breakfast - too much for us to eat. Fantastic pub. Would definately come and stay back here. Value for money. Thanks very much for an enjoyable weekend.

On arrival the TV reception in our unit was poor and the host checked it out and decided to upgrade us the following morning.
