Meet the girls from The Great NZ Roadie

Jasons caught up with two gutsy travellers who traded their flat for a van and hit the road to discover their own backyard in true Kiwi style: On a road trip! Here's a few inspiring words with the girls of The Great New Zealand Roadie on their once-in-a-lifetime adventure:

How are you going? We’re the gals from The Great NZ Roadie
Our mates call us Carly and Teresa, oh and of course there's our beach ball companion Wilson West.

Carly, Teresa, and their trusty (and smiley) companion Wilson West.

We’ve been travelling the Great NZ for many seasons now. We saved up our coins to do a little stint overseas, but thought why not travel our own country?! So we packed up our flat, bought a van and set sail, so to speak.
Our home town is West Auckland! Bethells and Muriwai.
Our car’s a 1984 Mazda Bongo, she's a beauty, more than a van, she's a home and a friend!
It’s got us all the way from West Auckland to Bluff and thousands of kms later she's still going.

Cape Reinga - one of the amazing spots the girls discovered on their Great NZ road trip.

Our favourite travel gear has gotta be our basket of goodies, heavy duty sleeping bags and definitely our thermies in winter!
We saw the wildest things everywhere! Every place is different and tells its own story with different people, stories and adventures. You're not a true Kiwi until you've done something like this. It's an amazing experience.
When we’re on the road, we usually rock out to our ipod, you can't travel NZ without some good beats and The Rock radio station when we could get the frequency!

Nugget Point on the Catlins coast, where the girls took some epic scenery shots.

Do you like to take photos? We got some epic shots at the Catlins coast in the South Island, amazing rugged pure New Zealand beauty, and on top of a large hill looking over Wanaka and the mountains.
Whatever you do this winter, don’t miss anywhere around Queenstown with all the huge mountains - those mountains are made for snow - they really do look spectacular when they're covered.

Stunning snow-capped mountains stole the show on the girls' awesome roadie.
