The beautiful Nikau room is very spacious with one queen bed and views overlooking the river. The ensuite bathroom has a seperate shower and King Size spa bath, making it the perfect place to unwind in the evening or re energize for the coming day.
The Kauri room is located on the ground floor and can be accessed from within the house or from the sun deck in the pool area. It has a beautiful Four Poster bed and ensuite bathroom. Very romantic.
Located upstairs the Rimu room has one queen and views out over the city. A lovely quiet space to relax and unwind. This room shares a seperate bathroom.
The Matai Room is located upstairs with views over the city. It has one queen bed that can be split into two singles if required. The Matai room is very quiet and very spacious.
Located upstairs with views over the city and river. The Leadlight Room is spacious with a seperate bathroom across the hall. A great place to re energise.
Booked for a B&B to arrive and find a new owner who does not do the B - he suggested I breakfast in town each morning. No EFT or credit card zapper facilities to accept payment. No exterior night lighting left on if returning in the dark. New owner works full time and is not on premises until evenings. Nice bedrooms and bathroom facilities but that's all guests get.
Perhaps early days but a lot more has to happen to provide anything like the welcoming guest experience that the previous owner provided.
We stayed two nights at Cedar House. It was wonderful. The room was beautiful with immaculate bedlinen and comfortable bed. The bathroom (with spa bath and shower ) was excellent and had really fluffy towels and stylish but functional dressing gowns. Breakfast was very good and our hostess was the mostest! We would recommend it to anyone. We rate it as a 5 = excellent.
Great service from Kathryn and Steve, no problems at all, lovely stay, comfortable, spa bath brilliant, huge room to relax in and private. Too cold to go swimming, but the pool looked inviting.
Cedar House is in a perfect location - one minute from the riverl; two minutes from a great farmers' marketl; and a five minute walk to the city centre. The accommodation itself is stunning. We stayed in the Kauri Room - all amenities, easy access and quiet. Host is lovely. We should have stayed longer.
