    "First Time in Gisborne"

Very kind and helpful hosts. Only 2 minutes walk to the dreamlike beach and only 15 minutes to great restaurants an the harbor. Clean and nice rooms. Unfortunately, the 35 is very busy and therefore a bit noisy.

    "peace and quiet"

Kia-ora, even though we only stayed 1 night, we really enjoyed the spacious room, the quietness of the place and the grounds. we are so pleased we didn't stay right in town, especially with the traffic and all. The shower was just perfect, especially for my tall man. Plenty of choices for breakfast too. We look forward to staying there next year to watch our rugby boys and stay longer.

    Thank you

    "Tidy and adequate"

The room we had was basic, but clean and adequate. There was little ventilation so the room was very hot. The operators were pleasant and helpful.

Have stayed before when first opened so went again Labour weekend. Owners very nice and accomodating for anything asked for and needed. And it is near the beach for walking.

    "Fantastic experience"

Really liked our stay - was a long drive up there with a toddler, but the Captain Cook was a great relaxing place, so central to everything (no cabin fever for toddler - jumping pillow onsite inflated on demand, beach and playground 1min walk away, town 5min walk away), and staff very helpful.

Value for money - we had a roomy 2-bedroom unit. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom modern. Very happy with this motel.

    "Great place to stay"

We stayed for one night & were impressed by the clean, fresh unit. It was quiet & beds were very comfy. The hospitality & service was exceptional - friends needed a room at short notice complete with roller bed & the host went out of her way to ensure this could happen. Thanks for a great stay & we will be back!
