The Southern Hemisphere's only authentic Chinese Garden has a rich history to explore. Join us in experiencing the tranquillity and beauty of a Garden in the midst of a bustling city. Contemplate life over tea and traditional Chinese finger food from our Tea House and leave with authentic mementos from our Gift Shop. The Scholars Garden is an integral part of Chinese philosophy and culture and this Garden has been transported in its original form from Shanghai (where the City of Dunedin enjoys a strong sister city relationship), and then constructed by Shanghai artisans using centuries old building processes.
