Overview

Just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Christchurch International Airport and a stone's throw from the State Highway 1, North South Holiday Park is optimally placed for a great holiday. With beautiful, park like grounds filled with trees it's chock full of handy amenities ensuring a fun trip.
There are plenty of powered and tent sites, a self-contained unit with separate bedrooms (sleeps 5), cottage (sleeps 2), 2 park motels with separate bedrooms, DVD, and barbecue on deck; 4 ensuite cabins (sleep 6), 4 tourist cabins (sleep 4-6), 10 standard cabins (sleep 2-4), lodge (sleeps 30). All accommodation non-smoking, TV provided, cot, highchair, and linen hire available from office. Dump station available.

The Park offers wireless internet access, a comfortable TV room, sauna, pool, adventure playground, tennis courts, barbecues, carwash, commercial laundries, onsite shop, courtesy van pick-up airport by arrangement and chopper pedal bike hire. Member Family Parks NZ, HAPNZ, Qualmark 3-star plus Holiday Park.

"A barely adequate experience."

Although easily accessed from state highway 1, this camp suffered from unhygienic ablutions, along with poor drainage and dismaying smells. A night of rain resulted in a large mystery puddle inside the cabin. The bunk mattresses in our standard cabin were inadequate for adult use (much too thin). The staff however were friendly and helpful, and the kitchen gear supplied in the capacious cabin was quite impressive. The 15 min walk to public transport was disappointing, and a lot of driving was required to get anywhere. Plane enthusiasts will enjoy the frequent reminders of the airport's proximity. Playground judged minimal by our child. Pedal cars a plus for younger visitors.

"Overnight on Thursday 5th April 2012"

We arrived after 9.30pm, had phoned ahead & the keys were at the door with directions.

I had also ordered bedding for the evening.

To our disappointment there was none so had to improvise as well as we could.

"My stay"

I have now stayed here twice and have enjoyed both my stays. This time I stayed in a standard cabin and was impressed on how tidy and well set up it was. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Christchurch.
