Was picked up right outside not too long after we touched down.
The accommodation was exactly what we needed for 1 night. They had turned the heater on before we arrived which was nice as it was 2 degrees outside. Nice comfortable stay and really close to the airport. The only thing that was dissapointing was the fact that because of the ash cloud jetstar was cancelling flights and i had been left a message with reception however i never got it. We turned up to the airport at 8am to find that out. Luckily we could get on another one at 11. After a 12 hour flight previous and 5 hours sleep i would have liked to of been told!.
I have stayed at Airport Gateway many times over the years since it was first built. The same high standards have been maintained by successive owners. This place is well maintained, good value and in a really good location for us. And...it doesn't shake so much out near the airport!!
we found the rooms very spacious and comfortable it had every thing we needed also the staff were very accomodating with any thing we needed even extra pillows on top of the amount the room had, we even had transport provided to the airport to catch our plane which left really early in the morning, i would not hesitate in recomending this motel to other travellers.
Fantastic accomodation, bus stop very close and still very nice and quiet accomodation. People very friendly.....loved it....will return back to this place again

The motel was clean and comfortable although noisy at night and the cooking facilities were sparse and below par and in need of replacement. The internet kiosk is old and outdated and had only one operational computer.
The hosts were professional but not friendly and I do not think this motel deserves a 4 star rating. It was obvious that many guests were paying good money at this motel and its time for the owners to put some money back into its upgrade.
Tourism is all about giving the tourist a memorable experience and the warm welcome that we received on our recent overnight stay at the Airport Gateway Motor Lodge Christchurch was one we will remember. Nothing was too much trouble, taxis were booked for us and the room facilities were good. We loved the extra touch of the heated towel rail in the bathroom. It was a pleasant stay and our group of 4 were happy with the facilities and the service. I would recommend the Airport Gateway.
I would highly recommend this motel. We arrived late and were transferred in a luxury limo to a clean and comfortable room. Highly organised manager arranged for account to be charged direct and booked transfer back to airport the following morning. Very happy with excellent service and quality accommodation.
We found the service here terrific, having been away for 6 weeks they stored our car, collected us from the airport on our return and had our car at the door ready for us to use. Recomend anyone wanting to park and fly to spent a night (or two) like us.
I was initially impressed with the great customer service. We were then shown to our room, and though it wasn't anything flash harry the furnishings were in good condition, all rooms were clean and tidy and the rooms were warm.
The only let down would be the bathroom - we were told not to leave the bathroom door open as the steam would make the fire alarm go off. This meant the mirror got foggy and the room was damp for when the next person used it.
Other than that, our stay at Airport Gateway was a pleasant experience.
We booked for one night, stayed a second, then returned for a third a week later before flying out. Very convenient location close to airport and main highways out of CCH. Fantastic attentive service. Good basic facilites for a motor lodge.
Transfer from airport was handled well and efficiently. Rooms were ok, although oven didn't work properly. Sounds were quite loud from outside/next door. Overall ok but staff attitude was not friendly and fell way below expectations.

Our complimentary transfer service is focused on making it absolutely painless for our guests to get to and from the motel when flying into and out of Christchurch, even the 4am check-ins for the early departures to Australia. Once you’re here, your movements round the city the next day are your own responsibility. We’re sorry you interpreted this policy as an “attitude”. We do presume you enjoyed the free transfer from the Airport at 1am, the hassle free check-in, and we note you didn’t mention the pre-heating of your room or the complimentary upgrade to a unit with a super-king bed.

Clean and nice room. We stayed only one night and it was ok. 2 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes to the center : enjoyable.

What an excellent place to stay with superb services provided for anyone travelling by air. A very well operated business, excellent facilities, very comfortable beds, well equiped units, very clean and great value for money. Could anyone top that??? Well done Airport gateway and thank-you.
A very pleasant place to stay and the lady of the house is more than helpful and accommodating for everyones needs. Nice and clean rooms.
