  • Arthur's Pass is a great place to visit, or stay at, if you want to check out Arthur's Pass National Park. As well as being unbelievably beautiful, there are some great walks and hiking trails, plus opportunities to fish or even climb. Just remember - don't feed the kea! They may seem cute now but they won't be so cute when they've attacked your tent or camper van in the middle of the night looking for your food or shiny things! (They're the large green parrots with orange under their wings.)
  • 95 km out of Christchurch lies Methven, a small place with BIG possibilities! Methven is close to nine different ski fields, and is often used as a base for heli-skiing. Summertime? How about a round of golf? Maybe a parachute jump? How about a hike at a nearby reserve? Or maybe you just want to sit back and relax. You can do it all in Methven.

  • Tekapo Springs is a must visit in winter. With three pools heated as a by product of the adjacent ice skating rink, you can relax in the steamy spring water goodness whilst the snow softly falls.
