Northland’s beautiful Bream Bay is a delight to explore, with sparkling waters and kilometres of white sandy beaches. Bream Bay is safe for boating and swimming and there are many bushwalks, waterfalls and caves in the surrounding native bush.

The town of Ruakaka stretches from sandstone cliffs inside the harbour at One Tree Point, through the heads and along the white sands of Bream Bay. Take a horse trek through the forest or along the beach, or go trackside at Ruakaka’s all weather racecourse beside the beach. Waipu is home to many artists and you can view their work in the local craft shops and galleries, or drive out to Waipu Cove to catch the surf. Nature lovers can enjoy the birdwatching at the Waipu River estuary.
